Or you could do worse than look at some of the programs marked open source or freeware here for ones that split without re-encoding. So you split and discard the useless half.
(Obscure place to link for this question I know, but I came across it earlier today while doing normal browsing and it does list several I'd not seen before, yet to try the ones i've downloaded yet though)

I use MP3 Book Helper myself, due to it supporting OGG, Regexps and tons of other heavy duty features you need for large music collections (flexes e-penis).

Hmmm, If audacity could edit MP3s without re-encoding this it the first I've heard of it. Now I will have to investigate though.

Oh snap! I downloaded XP SP2 like a good boy, and now StyleXP tells me that it doesn't support this build! What can I do to make my interface not look like ass?

Never fear! Microsoft, being Microsoft, included a new version of uxtheme.dll in SP2 that prevented .msstyles files other than those included with XP from displaying properly. Luckily, some enterprising young fellow has patched uxtheme.dll.

Step by step:
  1. Go here and download the new uxtheme.dll. It's .rar'd, so you'll need a utility to unpack it.
  2. Reboot in Safe Mode by pressing F8 before the WinXP load screen starts.
  3. When XP boots, choose "Run in Safe Mode" from the dialog that pops up.
  4. Go to the directory where you unpacked uxtheme.dll, and copy it.
  5. Go to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. Rename the uxtheme.dll there to anything else (I picked uxtheme.bak.)
  6. Paste the patched uxtheme.dll.
  7. Reboot normally.
  8. Enable StyleXP.
  9. Pick the visual style of your choice!
Here I am, to sing you a song. And there you are, asleep against the windowpane, just like always.

Not sure if this has been posted, but I've found a site (http://sniptools.com/vault/uninstall-an ... senger.htm) that tells us how to completely remove MSN Messenger. Here's how:
Make sure you have exited MSN messenger and then, START --> RUN the following command:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

If anybody wants to know what programs will either have problems with SP2 or will not work at all after you install SP2 check out these two sites:

That's the point Sandman. If you don't use MSN that is.

Trying to figure out how to create your own MP3 ringers for your phone but can't figure out how? I have written up a helpful guide on how to do so, at least as it applies to Samsung phones.

To add another guide...
"OMGWTF!!1 How do I make a DVD with animated menus and the like? How do I convert from NTSC to PAL?"
Fear not, I have written a complete guide to authoring a DVD, including how to make a silky smooth NTSC to PAL conversion. PM me for it, as I'm too lazy to upload the pages.

There aren't any free applications that effectively duplicate an oekaki, are there? I hate having to boot Photoshop up every time I want to doodle something, and regular oekaki's too slow.

Hi,
I was wondering how I can find out what my connection speed is without being tricked. There's so many sites out there that say they can test it, but I get different results and usually some offer from their website to make it faster. So what's a sure way to find out?
