I Shot My Boss

Postby Rick Awkward on Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:43 am

Hey everyone,

I've been reading RL for almost ever (2003 I think...), I even have a couple comic books with strips in them, along with an old interview with Greg. I recently started drawing my own strip and was posting it around certain webcomics' forums which I read almost daily, to see if anyone else would take an interest.

My webcomic:
http://ishotmyboss.comicgenesis.com/

Lets see... its (mostly) true stories about punk values alongside needing to have a job, and trying to balance them. Mainly taken from my life of going to shows, running a punk house, booking and promoting concerts, and trying to hold down friendships and regular jobs along the way. Each strip is titled with a punk, ska, or just-a-song-I-like title that kind of relates to the content, so you get secondary entertainment and maybe listen to some stuff you haven't heard before. I'll also include tips for getting by at work or even how to run DIY concerts for fun and non-profit from time to time.

And yes, I did create a facebook page for it, so, go like it? Or don't? I'm not sure what 'likes' do yet, but hey, why the hell not.

Thanks,
Rick

(yes, the title of the comic is also an awesome song)

What technologies do you use to create your art?

A wacom tablet and autodesk sketchbook. Early panels were done in MS paint and a mouse, you can probably tell which ones >.>

I honestly hadn't realized the art had improved. Keep at it, I guess.

New comics have been posted, plus improving bit by bit.

We got a boost from the relaunch of Movie-Comics!

And a guest strip of ours was added to their gallery.
