So...why is ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing and celery or carrots included when you order Buffalo Wings or any Buffalo-flavor like?

Because they taste good. Plus, the celery and such is a pleasantly cool, crunchy contrast to the soft and spicy wings.

My assumption, anyway...

Stupid question: Okay, so I notice the design of American power outlets means there's two ways could plug something in. So are American appliances able to be plugged in both ways? I ask because I'm importing some NTSC consoles, and due to the power bricks, I won't be able to fit them all facing the direction that seems logical to me, so I was wondering if I could Tetris them and have a few plugged in the other way around.

It depends... the slots on US outlets are not the same. One of them is actually a bit larger and if your adapters use polarized plugs (with one blade a bit bigger), then no, you wouldn't be able to tetris them. However, I happen to use some wall-wart friendly extention cords (basically an 8" long extention cord) so that my adapters don't cover more than one outlet on the power strip.

Look at the AC adapter and make sure it is auto-ranging... IE: the voltage listed on it will say 90-240V AC 50-60 Hz. Or you will need a some step-down transformers.

If you plug them into the wrong AC voltage, you won't have turbo mode. You will have released all the magic smoke that runs the things.

As a point of curiosity: Will that actually happen if you plug a 240v into a 110v; it seems obvious that supplying more than the equipment is rated for things are likely to go wrong, but it seems possible that the other way around would simply result in the thing not having enough power to turn on?

Now that I take a closer look, yeah, one of the plugs is slightly bigger than the other. I much prefer the way our plugs are, they're angled in such a way that it's obvious when you've got it upside down. With your plugs, I can see situations similar to USB plugs, where the first time you try to plug it in, it will always be upside down. I was actually hoping that mini extension cords would exist, I found something close on eBay, but it was a Y splitter. Where would I get some of the ones you mentioned?

With regard to voltage, I'm using a step-down converter that converts our manly Australian 240v to your wimpy American 110v.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_scat_ ... d51e86e739 has several options for you. Either 1:1 cords (1 plug, 1 outlet) or or the multi-outlet spliters would work as long as you don't exceed the maximum wattage that your transformer allows.

Awesome, just what I was looking for! Thanks mike! Honestly though, why couldn't you guys just build your AC adaptors like ours? Cable into the console, power brick in the middle and normal-size plug into the outlet?

Any of you guys familiar with electronics? I'm looking to buy a voltmeter so I can test the picofuses on retro game consoles. I found one on eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Digital-Volt ... 4ab0e869de) and it looks like the thing I'm after. I'm no electrician though, all I see is a dial with a whole mess 'o' numbers. Is one of these options the "test if a current will flow" one?

Yes, that meter will work. Use the lowest Ohm (omega symbol) setting (with the fuse disconnected from ALL power sources). If the fuse is good, you should see a resistance of near 0 Ohms. If the fuse is blown, resistance goes up to infinity. If you end up finding yourself doing more electronics or electrical work, though, you might want to step up to an auto-ranging meter.

Thanks for that mike! Looking at the photo, there appears to be only one point on the dial with a omega symbol ("2000"), is this correct? And how do I know which of the three plugs I'm suppose to to plug the positive negative whats-its-ma-hoozits into?

As to future electronics expansion, I guess I could get into testing each individual contact of the cartridge connector maybe? Or perhaps for bragging rights: "Buy my consoles! I own an auto-ranging meter!" ;)

You may want to read up a little on what the ohm is...
