Oh, every day's a schoolday. I thought 'ohm' was the rapacious noise heard from a dedicated fellatrix as she goes about her business.

You know, the kind you only find in movies and never in real life.

Ah ha, so an ohm is only ever one value is it?

I always thought it sounded like the chanting noise that the yogis in movies and TV shows make. Though, if you shorten the "o" it does sound rather suction-y.

All of the ranges in the bottom left corner of the dial are Ohms (from 200 Ohms to 200K Ohms).

That would explain the green border around this set of numbers. Thanks again mike!

Do toasters count as durable goods? I have a horrid econ book and it says a durable good is "one designed to last more than three years." When I buy my small appliances I HOPE they last that long, but often they don't. I'm not heartbroken if they break after six months. Is a computer a durable good? I mean obviously a water heater or a car is, but what about things with only a few years of expected use? Jeans are said to be non-durable goods, and I have jeans from six years ago, where I certainly don't have the car I was driving six years ago.

Not only do I expect a toaster to last more than a few years, I'm counting on it. Toast tastes better from an old, dirty toaster. I'm sure of it.

I've built a light box for my ebay photos, but the resulting images still seem too dark, despite two lamps being involved. Here's an example photo:

Any suggestions? Does my camera just suck?

It's a Kodak Easyshare so I'm gonna go with sucks.

But try adjusting the ISO (or just setting it to auto) as it seems to have used to least light-sensitive setting. You could also tweak the exposure compensation option to balance any crap choices made by the camera automatically (on that note, if you can do custom white balance with that camera this is a point at which to use it.

If none of this makes sense, read the damn manual.

Hmmm, seems like my camera just blows, the best I could do was make the issue worse.

I bought a new laptop, and IT WORKS! But I am debating if I should download Firefox or some other type of browser. Internet explorer WORKS, but it tends to lock up a bit more than I like. So my question: is it worth it to switch browsers and if so, which one would be recommended?

Anything but Safari.

My personal hierarchy is Opera>Firefox>Chrome>Internet Explorer 9>Safari>Internet Explorer 8 (and lower)

Chrome gets knocked into third due to lack of configuration options compared to Opera and Firefox. I do like to tweak.

Firefox doesn't seem to work well with video in it's newest version for me, I'd take Chrome first. For explorer, I like to use Avanti to replace IE. Opera works pretty well too.

How about ever since the last update, Firefox takes longer for video and anything related to Google to appear?
