Yes, Portland, Oregon. Moved there in late March but didn't get truly settled until May. Still hanging in there.

Costa Rica:
Inland at the Arenal Volcano - VERY humid with an amazing thunderstorm every evening.
On the Pacific Coast - What. HUMID. HOLY GOD. with light showers every evening.

I have, and I nodded my head as I read the strip. XKCD nails it.

Oh, and by the way, 60° and rainy. Hurricane Sandy seems to have punched the Jet Stream a lot further south than forecasted for the Midwest, which leaves the Pacific Coast in a warming spike. I think Sandy may have also altered the winter expectations, which isn't the first time an October hurricane altered the winter forecast.

It was FOGGY today. LA doesn't do fog very well...

70F and mostly sunny with some clouds here and there, high of 79, sudden cool front brings the low down from the mid 60's to 44 tonight.laar night was gorgeous and mild, perfect for a sweater, shorts, and flip flops for my birthday party.

The weather finally stopped trying to kill everyone for a few days. It's now 54 and sunny, supposed to get into the sixties today. That's much more like it.

See, Cid, Mother Nature just hates Rhode Island, and everything else is just collateral damage.

I find it very amusing that snowfall here is listed in terms of altitude. 1500 feet is the snow line for the Cascades today. It moves up to 2500 feet on Monday.

And they're talking about 60 mph gusts starting tonight. So I suppose I should get finish my laundry work today.

I and my VFW post are comprised of doofuses. We had a picnic in that weather. My fingers have only just defrosted enough to type again. I wore my heavy leather jacket, the missus wore her leather jacket and a (*ugh*) donated USMC hoodie and it STILL wasn't enough.

STILL? Good god man, it sounds like you were buried in a pit of coals, what with both a hoodie AND a jacket! How could that ever not be enough?

Actually, the wind chill was the worst of it. It did not let up. I was working as grill master and I had to keep swatting people out of the way so I could actually cook.
