Final Peace

Postby Phoenix Talon on Mon Feb 28, 2005 11:08 pm

The city is noisy, as is typical of Boston on a Monday morning. People running to and fro to work, homes, and other various activates, all of which may not be legal. Most cops have given up here in the city, but there were still those who tried to make a difference in the area. Even then, the city was slowly deteriorating into a place where the mafia ran more than the local government.

Over time, the famous Boston Commons became nothing more than a pimping ground merged with a marijuana factory. Fenway Park had not seen a single game since 2000, and had since been broken into and used as a base of operations for local gangs, and has gained a “Fight Club”-esque aura. Mass General Hospital had spread to two other building to accommodate the ever increasing victims of the fighting against Humans and Seconds. The Business Sector of the city became a mash between legal and illegal activities, with Mafia men setting up shop next to hard working men. Hotels also are in this area, thought they almost seem to be an extension of the Commons. Housing has also become sparse, though the Little Building, a 20 story complex which was once dormitories for college students, has been converted into small apartments for those who can afford them.

The Subway is no where as efficient as it was, and now only services three lines: the Red Line, Green Line, and the Purple Line. The Red line goes from the city to Providence, RI, which then heads off into New York City. The Purple does the same, only in the opposite direction. The Green Line sections up with Mass General Hospital, and stops at the famous Harvard Square (Hahved Squaah, to the locals), which houses some shops, LEGAL shops, that may have some things of use. The Green line continues a little further to the Capital Building, which is one of the cleaner locations of the city, though this is mainly because the police force there is almost quadruple of that in any other section of the city. The only other transportation into and out of the city is through the highway, which is always jammed, or Logan International Airport, which only accepts a few flights every few days, and even then those are limited to continental flights.

A clock on the Commons strikes noon, as rain begins to fall. Those on the Commons look up, sigh, and then continue onward with whatever they were doing previously. Life moves forward slowly, not that anyone here has much to do within a certain time….

OOC - I was going to start this tomorrow, but I got out of my lab early, and had my night class cancelled. If you could, pre-fix where you are, or where you're going to be headed, so that it makes it a tad easier for me. So, post where you are, any goals you have, any general interactions, etc. Do what you want and can....before time runs out....

Kian mostly does what he can to be invisible. He works deliveries for business areas, and lives in a ramshackle apartment near Fenway Park. It's not much, but he calls it home, for the moment. Its proximity to Fenway Park lends to higher crime rates, but the apartments themselves are a relatively neutral territory, giving some peace from most anything except the occassional break-in and police raid.

Because of his unusual history, he had aquired the habit of searching out other Seconds. They had an astonishing tendancy to show up at fight clubs...
___

Kian leaned back on the bench, which groaned under his weight. He chewed his sandwich quickly. It was lunch hour, but he had a few more deliveries to make to the business sector, and he wanted to be finished early. Rumors were circulating about a new up and comer at The Pit - a notorious fight club - which had piqued his interests.

Jonah, does things that you would expect of any superintendant, attempt to appease as many tennants as possible. He helps by maintaining equipment, and appliences, collects rent and sends it to the owner. Not much to worry about with his simple life and nothing to interupt his self motivated studies. A simple white can with a red tip sit next to the door of his apartment for when he walks out into the city.

Now...

Groo lays, curled up in the corner of an alley under a heap of trash, trying to stay hidden. He didn't know where he was, nor did he care that much. He just didn't want to be found again...

Groo moves himself into a sitting position and attempts to pull the collar off his neck. He can't quite get it off because his large hands can't manage to open the clasp and his fingers can't get underneath to tear it off. Groo turns his head towards the entrance to the alley and stops moving, he thinks he heard something.

Adam has come here to "finish a deal" with a client that was dragging his feet. He walks with a purposeful stride by the old snack booth. By the hallway that leads to the bathrooms, Adam sees a rather large man throwing dice with about five other individuals. Adam rubs the hilt of his SOCOM pistol that he "borrowed" from his first contract and puts a ciggarette into his mouth. As he walks up to the gamblers, they notice him and began to stand up as the large man finishes his throw.

Adam looks over all the standing figures and pulls his coat back to show the holster of his gun. "You got what I came here for?"

"No."

""That's good." Adam whips out the SOCOM and fans out his arm as he nails the standing men in their heads with five quick shots before their hands leave their sides. "Let's hope they have enough money to cover you. Otherwise, it looks like I'm gonna have a little fun..." Adam smiles

Jharlan is busy at the hospital building PR as a man tha cares for both humans and seconds. After all, his political stance is one of equality. The best way to establish that reputation is to help at a hospital that treats both.

Adam:
The men stare at the dead body that now has almost no face. You can smell the fresh odor of urine coming from one of them, if not more. After about a minute of staring, one hets up and tries to leave. Another one at the same time uses the advantage to try and call the police.

Jonah, Groo, Kian:
On the streets, the cops can be heard clearly. You see three comp cars, followed by an ambulence heading in the direction of some older apartments. Aside from the normal group of kids that run from the sirens - about 7 this time - nothing seems too out of place, except maybe the fact that there are three cop cars, instead of the usual one.

Jharlan:
As is usual, the hospital is an extremely busy place. That day alone, in the small amount of time you had been there, more than 50 people had come in with various fight wounds, most caused by guns or knives. In addition to seeing all the patients, you have over heard that Marco Porter, a well know affiliate to the Mafia in Boston, is in one of the rooms at the hospital, and is currently under alyseum.

"Go ahead. Call the cops. I'm sure they won't have a problem with the fact that you have maybe about two kilos of crack on you right now. Here, ask for Peter Frankton. He's a good friend of mine." Adam grabs at the large man's collar and drags him around to the other bodies as Adam feels out the pockets of the dead bodies.

"Hmmmmm... Looks like you aren't so lucky. Let's take a trip to the bay. I got a car outside."

Adam looks over at the man with his phone up to his ear. The man frantically whispers in the corner, "Yeah, we're at Fenway. This guy just took out five guys. He" BANG!

Adam walks over to the dead body and picks up the phone. "You might want to make that six guys, bud."

Kian looks up with interest. Normally he wouldn't bother, but the cars were heading in the general direction of his apartments. He hesitated. Police were something he had successfully avoided thus far. For some reason he was feeling daring. If nothing else, he'd make sure it wasn't at his apartments. Hopping on his bike, he took off after the police cars.

Jharlan attempts to arrange a meeting with this "Marco Porter." One never knows where a political ally may be gained, and at the very least it is good to know who is part of that game and whether or not they should be stopped.

After they pass by his alley, Groo stands and begins to rummage through the trash for some food. Finding nothing, he tries to sneak off to another alley without being seen.

OOC - Jimtaki, you were at Fenway? WTF? That alters things a bit. I thought you were at apartments or something of a similar nature. Well crap, that changes things a WHOLE helluva lot. Which is why I asked you guys to prefix where you were... :| Alright, lets see where I can go with this.

IC:

Marco: You reach the area where the doctor is located, and see three cop cars and an ambulance in the apparent apartment next door. Six cops have jumped out of there cars, and barrel up the first flight of stairs of the apartment with out so much as a second glance over to you. When you reach the door to the doctor's office, you see a note hanging from it with your name on it.

Marco, in the apartments next door, room 374. Just come in.

Kian: You follow the cop cars to a building about a block away from your own apartment, and see the last of however many cops there run up the apartment building's stairs. You also see a young man wearing dark blue Jeans, a grey t-shirt, and a black overcoat over by the door of a local Doctor, the one people often called crazy, as he tried to explain the Seconds from a genetic level, and even housed some.

Groo: The cop cars race past you, and you slink off into another alley. The larger coincidence of this is that the alley is next to the building where the police have stopped there cars. You hear a door open, and out emerges a tall, thin man, wielding a silenced pistol. He doesn't seem menacing to you, but he sort of smirks, in that "Heh, what are you gonna do about it" way.

Jharlan: The nurse in charge of that wing looks up at you. "Are you family, or the force? Only two groups allowed to see Mr. Porter at this time."

Adam: The man on the other end is cool and calm. "Well, I would expect so. I would suggest that you hurry up and dispose of the bodies. The Boss wouldn't take kindly to someone leaving evidence around on the Park. He loves that place, after all. The cops will be there in 10 minutes. Hurry up." The man hangs up the phone. Yet another plus side to the mafia infiltrating the system....
