Aim D&D game: DMs Found, LETS PLAY!

Postby Blind Pyr0 on Sun Sep 28, 2003 4:27 am

On the advice of another forumer. I decided to play a D&D game through AIM, I don't have anybody to play with here except my brother, and he doesn't know how to play either. So basically I'm looking for a few people that may want to get together on AIM and show me the ropes of D&D.

There is one problem i see arising, Dice, people can easily lie about dice.

Anyway. If you wouldn't mind being a DM or playing a game with me e-mail me, drop me an IM, or reply here. Thanks Later.

In the AIM chats they have a rolling program thing that is built in. I'm in, but I can only make it on AIM on wednesdays(probably not till 8 ) and every other weekend.

Sorry, but I just started a forum RP, and I'm running one IRL. That, and a lot of other things, means that I probably wouldn't even have the time to play it, much less run it.

Many of us dont like AIM. I may use it, but that is only because I know too many people on it to do otherwise. Aside from that it is a horrible program

Well, what would you reccomend for the chat? If a game gets started, I'm game to be in.

I don't like AIM either but like half my friends use AOL so it's like the main way I talk to them.

Yeah, all my friends are on AIM too, so I have to use it. I have never played D&D before, but if someone would be willing to show me the ropes, I would be delighted to play. The best time for me would be friday afternoons, but I can do it on other weekdays too, as long as I don't have a lot of homework.

If you like, I could ask some of my friends if any are interested in learning to play D&D. I'm sure one or two would be willing.

As for the AIM chat dice thing, I can see one major problem: You can only roll 6-sided dice.

Uhm, first, you can roll anything between 1d2 and 15d999 on AIM chat. //roll-diceX-sidesY, like say, //roll-dice2-sides20 is a 2d20.

Second : AIM is far superior to MSN (you wouldn't believe the trouble I've had with multiple-person chats on MSN ... it makes it near impossible to talk to other people one on one in the chat, like if the DM and a single player need to talk, because the chats will jump between which is the group and which is personal.

Y!Ms not too bad, as far as I remember.. >_>

Fuggle is right. I have played DnD through aim before and you can roll other than 2 d 6.

im sorry, but msn is much better than aim. And to what fucking struggle said, a dm and a single person are supposed to talk one on one, away from the others half the time, so you open a new window and talk to them.
