Shirt Ninja Figurine

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

They could ship them up in one big shipment so that SR could handle the logistics of getting them shipped out. But there are two primary reasons that's a silly idea:

1) Split Reason isn't a charity. They take a cut of the sale as their compensation for handling the actual business. There's no cut here unless Greg paid them.

2) Even if they decided to engage in a little Good Samaritan action and gave away their service for free, it would still cost Greg to ship the figurines to them (and across the Canadian border, potentially involving customs).

Really it boils down to the fact that getting people the figurines they paid for has a very, very low priority for them, and they're not willing to spend the money and time to ship them out. It's unfortunate and frustrating, but I don't know what can really be done at this point other than them making the decision that it's time to take care of it.

I'm not really sure I understand this. Didn't they factor shipping costs into the pre-order cost? Or have the costs spiraled out of control and so there isn't enough money to cover shipping from the preorders?

They ended up having difficulties with customs, and everything ended up costing more than they anticipated. So apparently they've written it off?

It's funny. Spending the money that people paid them to get the figurines obviously wasn't a low priority for them. I don't get why people make excuses for them. This isn't an isolated thing. Look at the other threads about books and services they willingly take people's money for but never deliver on.

It seems that we should all just write this off as a lesson learned since there have been so many promises of shipment, but nothing showing up on desks. :(

Im surprised Greg hasnt been on here and said something along the lines of "due to lack of funds we cant ship your figures/books etc. if you still want these items we ar going to have to ask for a further $10 for shipping"

I'm sure that alot of people would be happy to pay it just to get their hands in their goods that they ordered years ago.

Sadly, I wouldn't give them more money up front, but I would pay a COD charge for shipping just so I know the money will be exchanged for a product.

I'm in agreement on this. I've pretty much given up on the book (the only thing I've ordered from them) though I will keep them updated on address, on the off chance it does get shipped. [and I actually gave my work address this time, which changes lots less than apartment…]

I will say that this is the ONLY webcomic I've ordered from that has had this much trouble delivering items (not that I've actually ordered a lot. I tend to just use the DONATE buttons on several of them semiregularly.)

Hey,

While I'm not owed a figurine, the last known working email address I have for him on file is gregdean@gmail.com

I'd bug him there and see if he replies.

I have 3 "Ooops we'll send it right now" e-mails from Liz & Greg from 2009 and 2010 and still don't have my figurine so I doubt e-mailing him will help.
