Real Life Comics

Book 2

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

Just so you know, that "get together" last year, they didn't pay a dime. I paid for everything for them. So don't include that into your rant.

Really? Why did you do that?

She's a nice person maybe?

tnitnetny, I had no idea that you'd paid for any of last year's get together. I never followed it as I'm on the other side of the states and knew I wouldn't attend. I do remember Greg (or Liz) putting the post up though, so I figured he at least he had a hand in it. *shrug* No hard feelings intended.

Fair enough. Sorry, I was in a curmudgeonly mood. Very kind of tnitnetny to do that, although I'm not sure that Greg is deserving of such kindnesses, in my eyes, at least.

What is kindness and how much of it is deserved is going to be rather heavily depending on whoever is giving the kindness and whomever is receiving it. A 3rd party is rarely going to be able to see that deeply.

That's true, but a third-party can still make a judgment based on their understanding of the morals of the other parties in question.

Anyone can judge anyone or anything else, yes.

Well, yes, that's obviously true, although some judgments are worthier than others.

I hope I can be forgiven for quoting from Facebook, but this is from both Liz and Greg on the Real Life Comics Readers group there regarding book 2:

"Elizabeth Dean If you need to change your address, send it to the rlcomicsstore email address. We're working to get these out. =) The book, will forever be a pain in our butts, but I think we're VERY close to getting it printed.

Greg Dean I actually got an e-mail from the person who is handling book printing yesterday, telling me the printers they were looking at should have a quote today. I have a quote from a printer overseas, but they wanted to see if they could use a particular domestic printer they've been looking at.."

and this was posted Friday 13th April. So things are moving on, slowly but they are doing their best at least.

I'm glad to hear that things are moving forward. I just wish they'd post an update (not on FB) about it once in a while.

Well, I've just about given up with this now. It seems that pretty much every deadline that has been set has gone by without so much as a word. I guess I may as well write it off at this point, and if I get a copy one day, then great. Or maybe they'll give me that refund I asked for, who knows? Probably nothing at all will happen, though, if the past few years are any indication. It's a shame, really, since I really liked the first few years of the comic.

FYI, I got a refund after PMing both Greg and Liz about it a couple of times. Just keep after them and you'll get your money back.

I'm sadly resigned to the fact that this book will probably never happen, unfortunately.
