That's what the flight over is for. It's not that hard to sleep on a 747.

It is when you are terrified of flying! I haven't EVER been able to sleep on a plane. EVER. I begin to close my eyes and then I am jolted awake because the plane moves a bit. Really, I just can't sleep on planes.

Have you considered taking a sleeping pill right after takeoff? Seriously, that ~seven hour trip will be boring.

Liz, seriously, a glass or two of wine, and you'll be fine. At least, if you're anything like me. I have no fear of flying, but a couple glasses of wine helps me relax and sleep.

Just happened to think of something. Who else likes to talk about plane crashed prior to takeoff? Helps calm my nerves. Then again, some other people don't tend to appreciate it...

I hate being sleepy more than anything on a flight. I've been sleep deprived and exhausted and still not be able to sleep on a plane. When I am really sleepy and want to sleep, then it makes the fact that I can't sleep even worse. So sleeping pills would not be the best idea.

I have had wine. But we're looking at what, twelve hours on a plane total? So I would be ingesting 2 glasses of wine on the first leg, and then have to refuel in NY. The big problem is that airline wine is just terrible. It's the worst, really. I suppose I could bring 3 oz of wine with me, but that's not a lot of wine for somewhere in the second leg when that wine cuts off and I need a second helping.

I'm sure it'll be boring, and that I will probably have numerous anxiety attacks, but it'll be worth it. =)

Stupid question, really, but... You do have your passports, correct?

There's worse out there, but the point isn't to enjoy the wine. Chug it if you need to :P

Oh my god! Passports! What the hell was I thinking?!?! Do you need those to travel to other countries?

...

We ordered our passports about 12 weeks ago, so we should be receiving them any day now. We have a passport office here in San Francisco, and my mother has a friend who works for them, so if we don't get them in the next few days, we're going to use our other tactics to get them. 12 weeks should have been plenty of time though. So yes, we have passports. I'm actually a little offended that you would think that either Greg or myself would be stupid enough to not get passports.

I've never experienced wine that bad on a plane. Perhaps I've been lucky?

And come, now, I don't think he was trying to be insulting so much as helpful, just in case.

It was more the several month delay most people have had in getting passports that I was worried about. I think some people have been waiting over four months and still haven't gotten them yet. And seeing as how you don't have the passports yet, a somewhat justified question.

It was meant to have " :D " after it.

We ordered our passports as soon as we were invited to the convention. Which was at the beginning of April. So it's been about 4 months. Plus, like I said, we have contacts on the inside.

When we ordered, they said that there was an eight to ten week wait, and then bumped it up to ten to twelve. Still, we'll figure out how to get them. It's lucky that we are right by a passport office.

As for the passport issue, did you also apply for a visa for the UK?
