OMFG RLF 2007 EUROPEAN MEETUP!!2314hamster

Getting to know all about you... Introductions? Looking to meet up with fellow forumites in your area? Not in your area? For all of these, this is the place to go.

Because it´s from the 3rd to 5th, so we can hardly meet then, can we?

The internet was invented by the american military back in the late 60s. It was designed to be a durable, scaleable, decentralized information delivery system, so that in the event of a nuclear attack, american military leaders would still have access to pornography.

Nah, not going to the convention. That´s too late now for that.

And the weekend after that? I thought it was supposed to be a trip to London and judging from previous stays there, I would recommend going there on a weekday. It is full every day of the week, but on weekdays, you have less tourists there and the touristy places will be less full.

But it is yours and Gowerly´s decision when and where to meet. I just need the date. And fast if possible ;)

@Gowerly: Everything ok with you and your relatives?

It'll be as bad all week. School holidays, etc, so there's nothing keeping people from coming apart from work.

Everything is fine for Greg and Liz to stay with me for as long as they're here, currently.

I have nothing specific really planned for any day (other than something in Guildford maybe on the 7th, depending), so when's best for you?

The 6th would be nice, if you dont need a day of sleep after the con.

Rors already said that he can´t come and BTEO too. If that hasn´t changed, it will be a small small meeting, eh?

Oh, I wasn´t asking if it is ok for them to stay with you, rather about the land-under situation you have in your vicinity.

I know you're not a native English speaker, but honestly I think this problem is far too wide-spread to blame it on that. So to help...

A number of items? Fewer.

An amount of something? Less.

You could have less traffic, maybe less crowding, definitely fewer delays because you have fewer tourists, for instance. See? :)

I´m not complaining about anybody correcting me, how else am I supposed to learn?

As I've said I can't afford to go anywhere right now. But I'm free from the 1st to the 9th (except for the evenings of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 9th) if you want to visit Bath and catch me for a while too.

Ok, ok DATES!

So, First meetup -

Place: London, somewhere.
Time: Probably late afternoon/evening.
Attendees: Gowerly, Greg, Liz, Garr, Lucksi (probably)
Stuff: I dunno, go to Namco Arcade, get drunk somewhere else, climb the houses of parliament?

I dunno if there'll be others. Whether we can make it to Bath instead with both Garr and Lucksi. Are you sure you're not free after the 9th, BtEO?

My holiday starts on the 10th. I might be free in the morning, maybe even a little of the afternoon[1], that Friday; but I can't commit to anything.

[1] My holiday will be spent as a helper at a holiday camp put on by my church for the junior church and their friends. Exactly when my brother plans to drive us both down (he's there too this year) will remain in the air until at lease a couple of days before. I'm sure he could accommodate a later time than he might of been planning if I have a reason.

Ok, so this is what we are thinking (so far. This is liable to change)

Arrive on th 1st and spend the evening in Gowerlyland.
The 2nd is a free day. We could probably use this day to relax and just trot around Gowerly's area but we could use it to see Stonehenge and Bath. (After looking up Bath, I am a little interested in seeing it. You know, since Jane Austin and Chaucer and people have written about it.) We could either see Stonehenge on the way there or the way back.
3rd-5th will be in Bedfordshire at Tokonatsu.
6th - RLF meeting. London was suggested or we could go to Bath and stuff that day. It doesn't really matter to me.
7th - Farmer's Market in Gowerlyland and then leave for Paris with Lucksi.
8th-9th - Spent in Paris. Take Eurostar home.
10th - London (Tate Modern and the Globe)
11th - London (We bought tickets for Avenue Q in the evening.)
12th - ??? Bath and Stonehenge? Something else that is awesome?
13th - London? We don't know. Maybe see if we can get discount show tickets.
14th - Hang around Gowerlyland.
15th - Home

There are a few days that are flexible, but we've already purchased Avenue Q tickets and reserved a hotel in Paris. We really would like to see Love's Labours Lost at the Globe on the 10th and since we'd be over there, we should see Tate Modern then. Ummm... what are you guys thinking?

aren't you travelling to con-land on the 2nd in the afternoon? That might restrict actvities outside of the immediate area.
