Confessions: And this time it's personal

Complain or gush all you like - this is the place to do it.

I've been in a few Mormon sponsored buildings and I just get eerie vibes from the surrounding artwork.

lol

Yeah, areas highly populated with LDS populations tend to create laws that reflect the Mormon view of things...It actually makes me glad I live in Washington instead of Idaho or Utah.

Seriously. I've been raised Mormon, and the Utah-Mormon culture is just ridiculous. The state legislature has a ridiculously higher percentage of Mormons that the state population. If any other religion was over-represented anywhere else, I'm sure there would be some federal intervention.

Confession: I have tried several times to watch The Office to see why everyone likes it so much. I can't find any humor (other than the occasional half chuckle inducing stupid joke) in it. I have no idea why it's so popular. I can't even say it's because of Steve Carell that I dislike it. I've liked several of his movies, Get Smart and 40 year old Virgin to name two. Heck even Evan Almighty got me to laugh more than any episode of The Office has.

Are you starting from the beginning?

It's one of those shows where I've known a number of people to say "meh" until they went back and watched through the entire first season and couldn't put it down after that.

In a related note, I finished re-watching through the BBC version last night.

I've only watched the first episode in the British version (which was essentially word for word with the American version if I remember correctly). How is it compared to the US version?

Confession: I've seen a few of the Mormon alternative movies, like The Singles Ward and Charly. And I liked them. If more organized religions were this creative in their brainwashing.

Anyone has the Office themed Clue board game?

That's because The Single's Ward was funny, for a horribly directed and under-budgeted movie, that is. The other mormon films, meh.

Confession: Saw Full Metal Jacket for the first time ever, today.

Further Confession: Spent most of it pretty damn bored.

Really? I saw it for the first time a few months ago, and I rather enjoyed it. Were you watching it on Blu-ray or DVD?

DVD, but I don't really see what difference that would make...

It's pretty much been a few episodes in a row here and there. How many seasons are there so far?

Yeah, I gotta agree with Deacon. The Office (the US version is on season 6 now) was almost disturbing for me through season one. It was vaguely worth watching to me, but it just didn't really grab me. Somehow, somewhere towards the end of the first season or the beginning of the second, it clicked completely and I started loving it.
