I'd tap that like a phone in the Cold War.

I'd skip tapping it and go straight to throwing it in Gitmo like the Obama Administration.

The major problem — one of the major problems, for there are several — one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.
To summarize: it is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem.

Reminds me of my favorite moment from Family Guy:

I absolutely love that quote.

"I am not able to rightly apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question."

Perhaps there is no confusion, and the ideas which provoked the question were logical and ordered. Sometimes people ask questions they think they already know the answer to; this kind of redundant fact checking can solidify assumptions which are the basic foundation of logical thinking.

Quotable Quotes

Yeah, that's a possibility, but then that would make them insufferable and the quote less funny.

Heh I like the quote too, but I found it so pompous that it begged to be disputed

Quotable Quotes

Postby Deacon on Tue Feb 14, 2012 7:01 pm

Yeah well apparently you've never worked tech support before and not worked with government at all if you presume that it was a question asked by someone who is maddeningly indirect in their otherwise valid inquiry rather than just a stupid question.

Deacon's right here. The government is full of people who will maddeningly tell you, even now, that they cannot be in error because they are reading off a computer (into which they have input incorrect data).
