Re: From 2003 through 2013: Then and now
10 years ago I wasn't here quite yet...but shortly there after. I was wasting my time taking every tech related program my school offered instead of going to a real college. Lived in Pittsburgh, and all different kinds of broke. Not much to tell there. Now I live and work in Chapel Hill/Raleigh NC, ...

Re: I'll never Alt-Tab out of WoW again: GotGame Rogue
Yeah... But so long as it's here, I'll throw in my two cents. All in all, probably a nice app for those who prefer to play full screen and don't want to alt+tab. Really, I'm kind of surprised xfire never added something like this to their application (or maybe they have and I just haven't seen it ye...

Re: Slow Hard Drive Access
That's really a good thing to note in general for anyone using a laptop, regardless of the OS or flavor of Windows, as they all do this by default. Generally this is a good thing, though, since it does save power (so your battery will last longer). I'd check that first, though usually, when a HD wak...

Re: I think my PSU has passed on...
All I can see is that one has a bigger fan, one has cable management and one has "fan only connectors". That last point in critical to me, because the one single thing that fixed my noisy computer problems was buying my current Antec power supply with it's "fan only" connectors....

Re: I think my PSU has passed on...
Are you sure it's not just pinin' for the fjords? Seeing little more than slight fan movement when you press the power button is pretty characteristic of a dead PSU. The very best test you can do in a situation like this is to test a known working, and correct type of PSU with the system you're havi...

I don't know if I'd necessarily call something that locks you out of parts of your OS that you would normally have access to "harmless". ;) The main goal of these particular pieces of software is basically to trick you into buying something that you either don't need, or wont help you even...

I've never had it with mushrooms...but that sounds pretty good. I'll have to try it.
I can go either way on the tomatoes. Lately it seems like a good tomato is hard to find around here, so I've been avoiding them for the most part, even though I love them. I'm pretty picky about my veggies.

Stay away from the Thinkpads. IBM sold the laptop business to Lenovo and no longer have any say in there laptops. Ignore this. Lenovo had some hitches right after they took over, but have since proven to be just as good as when the laptops were IBMs. Seconded. We're moving to Thinkpads at work, and...

Even if it isn't necessarily the problem in this case, that does seem a bit timid for something that you're gaming on.

Run a disk check, shoot it the bird, let us know the results. (Sounds like you've got it pretty well narrowed down)
