Baseball-bat proof helmet tester working with Russell Grant.
"whoops, I slipped"

I think I'd like being a computer game designer. And stick a "consultant" in somewhere for extra cash. And maybe chuck a bit of coding in there, since I'm new enough at it to still enjoy it.

vector art's beautiful for this kind of thing. *cut* *paste*, more time to spend on scriptwriting. plus, you can size the things down nicely to make tiiny things more easily than hand-drawing things.

*edit* nearly forgot to say; very nice scripts they are too.*/edit*

yeah, XP can burn CDs, but it's not so good at it. I'm not clear on everything, it does but it certainly does stuff like renaming files on the CD to 8.3 format and I know my MP3:CD player can't read 'em. Best to get some burning software like nero, though it ain't free.

For anyone who's interested, I noticed winamp couldn't connect to internet radio; so on a hunch I started up zonealarm (which hadn't been running until now) and everything connected just dandy. and, if you're going to lever your keys off with a screwdriver or something, remember to keep a hand over them. Sounds obvious, but I was cleaning my keyboard the other day and I forgot to do this, and the key flew clean over my shoulder and bounced off the ceiling somewhere behind me. I'm now missi...

FTP blues

I feel like a prat asking this, but: Every time I try to connect to FTP, my FTP client (SmartFTP) tells me it can't connect because "The server actively refused it". Does this mean I'm banned from every FTP ever, or do I just smell bad? Does anyone have any ideas? When I try using IE (v6) ...

I find coffee helps, seriously. about 3-4 cups in the late afternoon, then in the evening it wears off and I crash out.
In the intervening hours I feel like a bloody jumping bean tho.
