Yeah, I think that's the one, Bigity. Destroys aren't usually terrible, though, because there are often ways to dodge them. That's what counterspells are for

Re: Hellsing and this crazy Alucard picture *spoiler*

On the one hand, she freed him from his bondage and starvation, but I don't think that alone would have had him serve her From the way Integra has to authorize the release of Alucard's ultimate power at the end, I assume she has some kind of hold on his metaphorical cojones. Maybe he's still bound ...

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with destroy effects. Most of them are fairly balanced cards...well, there is one nasty black one I can't remember the name of that kills all non-black creatures in play, but I'm pretty sure it was banned a while back, anyway. The effects that I think are the w...

I'm curious, do they go over how the original Van Helsing defeated Alucard/Dracula and roped him into serving the family in the manga? From the beginning of the series I was curious as to how a mere human could make a servant out of a creature as powerful as Alucard. In other vampire-hunting mythos,...

*winces* Violent, aren't we? To be on topic, no, technically the invasion of Iraq wasn't illegal, though it certainly did piss off a number of countries. Realistically, the UN can be better thought of as a society for deciding international manners instead of a real governing body. Technically, it c...

It is nice to see somebody use theology creatively. People use Greek and Norse mythologies, along with others, fairly frequently, but most folks won't touch Christian theology with a ten-foot cattle prod. Or if they do, they're appallingly literal about it.

Re: 9/11 commission

Clarke has not started his book campaign during an election year in an effort to improve the system. He started it in an effort to scratch for the 15 minutes of fame his fragile ego felt he deserved, and the money that comes with it. Etc, etc. I guess that's one way to interperet it, Deacon, but ju...

Send doctors in clean suits over either via helicopter or in another boat. Have them assess the situation further, determine if there is indeed anything that can be done for the infected soldiers. If so, evacuate those who can be saved from the ship and hit it with napalm to eradicate any pathogens.

I have a black deck that's mostly destroy effects and life drains, but most of the other decks I have are very creature-based with some sorceries and artifacts that let me pull miracles out of my ass if I have to.

I liked 'em a lot, more because they're different from your standard, Tolkien-infused fantasy. You can only read about so many "halflings" and "rangers" before it all starts to blur together.

I would be worried about this, but recent fantasy book adaptations (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings) have turned out very well. As long as it gets a good director, I think it should be pretty cool.

I did some research into the symbols, and the oldest stuff I have (and the oldest cards I've played against) were from the Urza block. I agree that some of the cards are definitely over-powered. Festering Wound is a pretty bad one that's hard to deal with, and I have a Phyrexian Processor that lets ...

The anime was awesome. I can't believe they only did 13 episodes. That's just criminal...like
"cancelling Firefly" criminal. It was so cool...the only real problem I have with it is that they never had a decisive confrontation between Alucard and Anderson.

I guess the re-released Resident Evil for the 'Cube, for me. That was an interesting combination of creepiness, surprise and "ah, crap." Especially when you have to go back and burn the zombies you shoot in the beginning of the game; "Oh, dear God, please don't get back up, please don...
