Re: What does "be a man" mean to you?
"all those things you said" My friend, may I offer you some advice? I may have only been on the Real Life forums since October of '09, but I've learned some things in my time here. Any position you take on any issue at all will almost certainly call down opposing arguments from either Str...

Re: What does "be a man" mean to you?
Exactly - and if you expect a trait of both sexes, it ceased to be a part of being one sex. So if you expect both men and woman to be courageous, then you by default can't say it's part of being a man, because anything that's a part of being a man is inherently NOT a part of "being a woman&quo...

Re: What does "be a man" mean to you?
Hmm, growing a beard and scaring men and attracting women I personally don't care for. But yeah, courage is the word that expresses what I was trying to say (thanks for that). So yeah, one trait that I consider makes a male a "man" is courage. The other trait, which I'm also having trouble...

Re: What does "be a man" mean to you?
Ok. Let me just reiterate the topic of this thread: What does "be a man" mean to you? The way that I understood it is, given that you are a male, what characteristics do you consider makes you a "manly" man. I didn't mean violent, I meant if somebody pushed you for example, don't...

I meant not chicken in the sense not to be scared to fight. And I mean a man of his words.Arc Orion wrote:So all honest, non-fowl women are men.

I think that being a man is to not be a chicken and also if you say something you should do it.
