a little bit about the relief efforts and the role of the national gov't. the US Maritime Administration has just ordered my school to send it's training ship to New Orleans to act as emergency housing for the displaced refugee's. side note: the "proper" way to deal with a flag that has been "desecrated", burned, defacated on, touched the ground etc., is to decomission it by burning its remains. the ashes are then used to "consecrate" new flags as they are comissioned.
