Sorry, I was off a little. It's closer to $4700. When I was looking, I was looking at mostly grade-school, because that's what my kid is in. (Grade schools average < $4k).
Just checking. I was pretty sure that single prop i flew didn't get up to 10k, but I wasn't sure. In other words, Deacon is right.....Deacon is always right.....I will not doubt the Deacon
A typical single-engine prop can get to 10K feet, as...

Yes, actually, I've read Dianetics. I've also seen their 'secret' doctrines. The 'secret' doctrines (Xenu, OT levels, etc.) are not actually part of the Dianetics book. According to the Dianetics book, once you're 'clear', you're done. Not so in the world of Scientology, where 'clear' is the beginni...

minsx , I think the bueracracy is the major problem. I think the teachers' unions are a major contributor, though. My belief is that the system, as it exists, rewards those who put forth the least effort. So what do I think will happen to those who do more? Either they will get frustrated and start...

Re: US Politics--a different view
Remember - California is the highest paying state in the nation for teachers. You can't just say $50K is what all teachers make. If you would trade your job for a teaching job - then why don't you? The world needs more driven teachers. You seem to think...
Kyoru, I am sorry you thought I ignored your points, because I tried to answer them point by point. But perhaps I was unclear. I hope this helps. The point was, I didn't think 50K on average (or the other numbers I quoted) could be considered overpaid, c...
Anyways, to make a statement back on topic, I consider Scientology and nigh all other organized religion to differ only in the methods they use to accomplish their goals. The overall goals they have are one and the same: gaining followers, maintaining...
No, I support the election of a minority president because I believe that everyone deserves a shot. If we're going to make claims about being a diverse country with liberal views about minorities in leadership positions, we need to put our mon...

Let's also not forget that the Inquisition, etc., happened at a time when capital punishment and torture were common. I understand how, in your hate of all things Christian, you think that's irrelevant, but it's really not. It also doesn't excuse it. But, as I've said before, I'm most concerned with...

In that case, I agree with you :D :D :D. I think we should hold all groups accountable for what they've done in the past. Ever. Next time I see a British guy, I'm punching him in the nose for raising the taxes on tea. Oh, and if you're using the term 'fundy' in that light, you have to include the ol...

yes, that referring to a group as 'fundies' is essentially as dismissive and derogatory as referring to a group as 'Godless Communists'.
