scratch tat, I got on with the deletion method, only took 4 tries.

well, I went back and tried to preserve some of the saber glow, came out OK...

if I could find my copy of photoshop, yes, I could have.

Problem is, I had to resort to using the crappy editor that came with my scanner, whose smudge tool really, really sucks, and it doesn't have glow filters. So I had to hack up a picture of a lightsaber I found elsewhere.

The answer to all internet exploiter problems:

You can just turn the quality of the image waaay down, it makes it look older, and funks up the text.
