NOOO! That's not true!! That's Impossible!!!

Satire from my favorite radio station, NPR, and can be listened to online: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4655630 I actually missed that it was satire at first. . .and it made me want to cry: Star Wars line of Home Health Care Products: "Jedi-Nase" "Grow-Bacca&qu...

Re: Weddings for under 4000 bucks? HOW? Don't rings cost 20,

So I had this conversation at work today that totally reminded me of this thread. It basically went something like this: Don't date, or marry, rich girls (or daughters of rich parents). They expect too much. They will use your money to treat themselves the way they are used to being treated. . .like...

Re: Weddings for under 4000 bucks? HOW? Don't rings cost 20,

hmm I think my wedding cost less than $1300. Well, that didn't count the engagement ring, but we were engaged 1.5 years before we were married. . .and I lost the ring 4 months before we were married, so I don't count that (tho I bet it was uner $150) (that is another issue. . .why would you spend $2...

HAHA I love Rush :P After at least 1500 years of doing things one way, and beleiving, with good cause, that that was the way GOD wanted them to do it, why would anyone up and say, 'oh, such and such a popular magazine showed that some of these people don't aggree with how we do things (and might not...

Re: Credit Card Advice

Hmmm. .. . not sure about where you are or where you will be going, but I have only found one bank that will suit my demands - Washington Mutual. Get a checking account through them, and get a check card. You can even get a Student Visa Credit Card through them, and it's very good. Wherever you are ...

Heh, blockbuster sent us a postcard (20 cents postage) that threatened to send us to collections for a 20 cent late fee we hadn't paid in some time. (you know, you wait until you go back for a movie to pay the fee?) They also AUTOMATICALLY withdrew funds from our checking account (they had the numbe...

Re: Homeschool students are terrorists?

just to feed the fire a little bit, let me tell you what I learned in my "Intro to Teaching" class (before I decided I didn't want to become a teacher). Turns out that most of the propaganda claiming that our schools are totally broken is media hype (what isn't?). It's easy to sell hype, I...

As an interesting aside, ontheissues.org also has a quick quiz that you can take where they will match up your answers and values on particular issues with the answers that the president and vice presidential nominees would have picked. I do consider myeslf an 'independent' but I almost always lean ...

Re: Protecting a PC

you know, I tried AVG, and it was horrible! It would find 'viruses' that it couldn't tell me anything about. . .that I couldn't find anything about anywhere on the internet, for that matter. When I ran it, it would put the viruses in a "Virus Safe" or some such, and wouldn't tell me where ...
