They really have looked far too deeply into FF9. There's no symbolism. It's just a simple creative fantasy story that has nothing to do with the real world. What's next? That Rikku (Final Fantasy X this time) as a steal ability because it represents that women has been oppressed and must steal to survive? They would be forgetting about her mug ability! Booya!

Now, I'm not upset with the subject matter, but really, is THIS what our tax dollars are going to?

You think it's a waste of money to analyze how the media is affecting our nation, particularly our children? Granted, it's a very poor analysis, but I don't think that was your point.

The only thing I agree with is that the feminine stereotypes in media are quite sickening, though she does a horrible job of supporting her point. It's also retarded because game companies are alienating 51% of their potential customers.

And phoenix downs do NOT resurrect you from death! They wake you up when you are passed out! I hate it when people don't make that distinction.

I hate it when Square called "dead" "KO" in an attempt to pretend that what you said was valid in any way. You don't pass out at 0HP, you die. That's why the spell "Raise" (or "Life" in some earlier translations) resurrects you. "Revives from KO" my ass. It brings you back from the dead.

That's why if your party dies there is supposely no one that can revive them, even the other people in your party that were not in the battle or the local priest that you go to when you need to resurect a party member.

No, you die at -10HP. Square games just auto-stabilize the wounded.

dmpotter, is that's true, why can your "dead" character run about after battle even if you don't revive them? Final Fantasy never did make much sense

When a person reaches 0 HP, they're unconcious, not dead. They can't go downt to -10, silly!

The real question is: She has probably been shot, stabbed, electrocuted, frozen, tossed about, and smashed numerous times in battle, and yet Sephy comes along and kills her with one thrust.

I just wish that they could have used a phoenix down on General Leo, it was just so sad that he had to die.
