The SSR is the bastard child of the Chevrolet lineup right now. It's overweight, underpowered, overpriced, unpractical, and god awful ugly. It's Chevy's equivilant to the new Ford Thunderbird. If I want an unpractical V8 with no top, I'll take a Corvette kthanks.

Damn those McDonald's commercials.

*tic* *tic* *tic* *tic* *tic* *tic*

At least the Quizno's monkeys are cute.

*tic* *tic* *tic* *tic* *tic* *tic*

That McDonald's jingle is actually the infinite song of the DARK ONE that resounds in the inner circles of HELL ITSELF to toture and manipulate the unrepentant.

Throws me into convulsions every time. And now its stuck in my head. THANKS FOR NOTHING EMI. :x

What are these web toons good for? Whether you like em or hate them they are perfect for getting your attention and worming their way into your head. Imagine the Badgers being used to sell something? Marketing execs are starting to catch onto this even though they don't understand the draw themselves...

You all DO realize that since the advertisements have gotten you to think and make opinions about their products, no matter what they are, the advertisements have done EXACTLY what they're supposed to do?

Must not be that bad marketing-wiseif its caused enough of a stir to force a forum thread.

Yeah, Shroom...That was pretty much what I was attempting to say. I think my post was a bit muddled though.

Advertising is meant to catch your attention whether you like it or not. The point is to notice and remember it. I'm sure that we will be seeing more of these webtoons being used in marketing targeted at younger consumers. I seem to remember Garr mentioning that Webl and Bob were used in butter commercials over in the UK. Its a good gimmick and the webtoon developers, i'd assume, come cheap.

So good advertising makes you talk about a commercial (not even necessarily the product, but the commercial itself, which is what we're talking about here, isn't it? Even if the same commercial creates a negative opinion / aversion to a product?

StruckingFuggle, you really did nothing there but restate exactly what he said. Have you never heard the old adage "there is no bad publicity?" Now that saying may not be completley true, but for the purpose of advertising, whether a person likes a comercial or not they are more likely to talk about the catchier ones. There has been a rather large ammount of exposure for two Quiznos commercials that probably didn't cost them all that much in comparison to what larger companies spend. I've heard talk about them on talk radio, music radio, television and seen articles in print. I'd call that a successfull ad campaign even if about half of the people talk about how annoying they are. ADS ARE MEANT TO BUILD PUBLICITY!

Speaking of publicity, the irony in the fact that all of the media are calling the Janet flash a publicity ploy just kills me.

On that note I feel I should mention that I will avoid menards like the plague because their commercials are annoying as hell. Much like i will never buy anything from a telemarketer because they called me.
