Alter Ego - "Another I"

Post by KingInYellow » Tue Mar 02, 2004 8:57 am

Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink beneath the lake
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa

Strange is the night where the black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa

Song of my Soul, my voice is dead,
Die though, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa

- Cassilda's Song in "The King In Yellow". Act 1, Scene 2

Hello there. My name is Steven. I'm 25 years old, and I'm a slacker and good for nothing whose only ambition in life is drifting though it while creating as little commotion as possible. In the meantime, I bide my time by playing games, reading comics, and... as you might be able to tell... collecting various quotations from famous and well-written-and-spoken sources. This is my Alter Ego, The King In Yellow. He's the "Other Me". He's the mask that I've created to associate with others in this forum. The fact that I've stolen the idea of him from R.W. Chamber's play - "The King In Yellow" - should indicate precisely how lacking in creativity and imagination I truly am. Still. I still find it nice to be here. Glad to meet you all. :)

Hmm. That's about all I had to say, really...
"The room was empty of furnishment, save for a five-pillared seat rising so far aloft without stairs or other means of approach, that it seemed only a winged being could ever attain thereto. But on the seat was a figure shrouded with thick, sable darkness, and having over it's head and features a caul of grisly shadow." - Clark Ashton Smith. "The Seven Geases."

"Cthulhu saves! After all... he might get hungry later..."

When on my playful walk I matriculate,
I clutch my nostril and playfully hyperventilate.
O FUEGO!!, I cry, for in the catamaran,
A aardvark rustles, trembling my volkswagen van!

I calm myself. My face is blue,
From being such a overbearing shrew.
I then reflect, Let's shoot that horse fly!
My wife will find it a hairy bowtie!

Severn, where have you been?
I've been getting an unfair advantage while you've been gone, and those are never interesting.

**blinks**...Ror, with a girlfriend like yours, why would you even want that advantage over Justin?

Well, it's like Mr Andrews, my old chemistry teacher often said:
'Just because you've ordered in a restaurant doesn't mean you can't still look at the menu and then have nonconsentual anal sex with a fellow forumite'
Besides, he likes it, look how his avatar is smiling :shifty:
