Behold the arrival of a newbie who's bad with titles...
Hi, there, everybody. I've been a fan of the comic for about a year now, but I just got the impulse to join the forum today, so here I am (not trying to claim "lurker" status, I'm just saying). Anyway, stuff about me...I'm an 18-year-old undergrad at my university. I'm an English major, but I want to write for a living, so I'm probably going to take another one under my belt so I can get a job after college while I try to get published. My hobbies include reading (I'm mostly a very finicky SF and fantasy reader, but my favorite writer is Stephen King) and gaming (I have all the major consoles, but I work on a Mac, so I don't play many computer games). I also enjoy anime and the occaisional game of Magic. That's about all I can think of to mention, so I'll just leave it at that.

Shame on you, good sir! There are a great many games for the Macintoy, hence the name! Why sir, I would challenge you to a duel had you not been a user of that greatest of platforms!but I work on a Mac, so I don't play many computer games
As it is, though, I heartily welcome you to the forums! Punch 'n' pie are to the left!

The Dark Tower is my favorite work that King has done, no worries there. As for what SF I like, I used to be a pretty avid reader of the Star Wars novels, but I lost interest in high school, so my favorite writer in the genre is currently Bradbury. I have been known to check out new stuff, though, dwin, so if you have any reccomendations, I'm willing to try just about anything once.

Hmm...my current favorite would have to be Peter F. Hamilton's The Reality Dysfunction, Neutromium Alchemist, and The Naked God trilogy. Good read, lots of well-developed characters, heavy sci-fi space opera stuff. About 3000+ pages in total though. If you want to get a feel for the author and the series, try reading A second Chance at Eden. After that, I'd recomend Alstair Reynold's Revelation Space.
