camel spiders are a gift from satan.
I'm serious.... I'm usually an outdoorsy kinda guy, but all this makes me want to move to a big farking city where there are no ebil spiders or scorpions or what not. Just some roaches I can stomp with my big freakin' boots.
As it is, I'm glad I don't make my bed, to give spideys somewhere to hide....

drunkpikle, whilst that was an extremely interesting and informative first post, having read it I must now hate you with every fibre of my being
'Goosebumps' cannot describe the billiard-ball-sized lumps on my skin at the moment
This thread is like a carcrash, I don't want to see but I can't help but look
I'm never leaving Scotland again

*tiny* spiders aren't bad. If they're smaller than my little finger I can point at them threateningly and tell to them to move their fat hairy asses before I kick aforementioned asses.
Then I run like hell and get someone else to put it on the windowsill (don't want to kill the wee souls now do we?) and slam it shut, muttering about "stoopid spideys".
If they're bigger than...say...half a centimetre across, including leg span and fuzz, I'm SO screwed.

When I was in Kuwait, several years ago, I was told a story of a young military member waking up with one of those monstrosities on his face. It had apparently been there for a while as there was a sizable portion of his cheek missing. If I remember correctly, he woke up to the sound of his alarm clock.
Urban Myth Alert.
Spiders + Hair Spray = 0 - Boredom
Ergo
Hair Spray + Boredom =/= Spiders
EDIT: Unless Spiders = 0

Actually, you're just as likely to run into one in the city (more places for 'em to hide).
Secondly, it's when you leave your bed messy that they're more likely to make themselves at home in it. When the sheets are all clumped up, there's tons of little crevices that they just absolutely loooooove to chiil out in.

I've got a spider bite on my left arm. Years ago while I was living in the basement back at home there were always these little whitish spiders around. One of 'em bit me at one point, and the skin there's been a little discoloured ever since.
Think it was harmless, but it's still odd that it's lasted this long. *shrug*
I was chasing Matt around with a little tiny spider the other day. Don't think he appreciated that. I put it in the hole in the wall though. Probably happier there anyways.

You missed a part of the equation: Spiders + Hairsprayxlighter=flaming balls of dead spiders
Also, that may be an urban myth, but I've seen the picture of my friend's Sgt. who had a hole in his arm. Same story: went to sleep, woke up with a hole the circumference of a coke can on his arm.................*ickickickickick*

Is it white and slightly raised?
No, it's just a different shade of pink. Just slightly darker, but not dark enough to be a freckle.
It's also four or five years old(really can't remember at this point), so if it's going to do something, it had better do it soon or I'll be very dissapointed. =P
I just ask cause I've got the same thing I think... only it's a lighter shade of pink. It's on my left arm too, actually... and it's been a good handful of years as well... except I don't know what bit me...
