I would like to take this opportunity to send a message to everyone who will be attending E3 this year - ahem.

You can all go straight to hell.

Thank you for your time. This has been a public service announcment from the "Bitter-about-not-going-to-E3" committee. This committee consists of myself and possibly some other bitter people who will not have the good fortune to be attending E3.
In the end though, it's really the bees that get Sam.

I appologize if this had been mentioned elsewhere, but...

Isn't it supposed to be impossible to get into E3 unless you work in the "biz" in some fashion? I know that I could have gone when I worked for Babbages Etc., but I'm under the understanding that I could not now. Are they just a bit more lax with their definition of being "able to document [your] direct, professional affiliation to the interactive entertainment industry" than their website leads me to believe? I'm curious because it seems like I've spoken with quite a few people lately who say that they are going & I know for a fact that not all of them have direct, professional affiliation with the industry. :glare:

Hey, if it's not as restrictive as it seems, I'm there! :D

Eek!

That would be quite the trip. Spendy too. My wife & I looked into visiting New Zealand... If visiting the US would cost you anything near what we figured it would cost for us to visit New Zealand, then I definately feel your pain. Financially, at least...

I'm definitely with Aether on this. I hate anyone with tickets to that event. unless of course there is a possibility of obtaining them for free. currenly I don't have enough money to go to the club across the street, let alone E3.

Both Sony and Microsoft have had contests sending people to E3. Sony's was only for people on it's Gamer's Advisory Panel (silly little thing I'm in... I don't do anything, I just get free stuff from Sony, so I don't complain) and Microsoft's you have to have an account at xbox.com.

Sony required you to actually print something off and mail it in, I was far too lazy and never did it. Microsoft's all I had to do to sign up was sign into my account and click a button. I managed to do that.

Oh, and last I knew, tickets to E3 cost $250, but that was like 2 years ago I think, so it may have gone up.

Yes indeed, and considering $NZ1 buys around $US0.60, I'd have less money than I started with when I got there. :(
