Chrono Trigger: Resurrection

This is, like, every Chrono Trigger fan's wet dream. Their goal is to recreate the entire game, and a demo featuring 10 of the most memorable scenes from the game will be released towards the end of this year. They'll be sending the demo to console publishers for a full game, apparently...

This is REALLY impressive work, considering this has all been done by an independent developer over the course of a year. It's probably 2 years from finishing, but this is an accomplishment nontheless.

Oh, God, the character designs are horrific. They're stealing the look from Dragon Ball Z, which has absolutely awful character designs.

A tragedy ... Chrono looks like Goku ... Ugh.

Uhm. You do realize that the artist behind Dragonball Z made the character artwork based around the original Chrono Trigger in the first place, right?

So, in short, they're not stealing. They are going exactly by what the characters in Chrono Trigger looked like -- both in the original, and the movie-added re-release for Playstation.

Except, this is how they WOULD look in 3-D. Considering Toriyama did both the cutscenes for the rerelease and the original character designs, I'm pretty sure if this had come out originally for the GCN (along with Toriyama still doing art and stuff), Chrono would have looked like that. Get over blanket DBZ hatred before you denounce what appears to be a well-thought-out recreation of a brilliant game.

Uh, Moo, fuck off. Or at least point out where I have "blanket" hatred for DBZ. I don't care it was "DBZ". If Hellsing looked like DBZ, I'd still say the Hellsing (which is an awesome anime) looked like shit, too.

The idea is good, though.

I just wish it looked different.
