MC2 sucked SO badly.[/quote]
Yah, but this one's actually good. Licensed cars, actual upgradable cars, and realistic handling. Plus you can skip the whole system of modding the appearance of the cars.
And it goes from ordinary cars right up to various supercars, passing everything on the way. XBox versions even allow you to put custom soundtracking in to skip the godawful rap music.
I picked it up pre-owned, and got hooked. Waay better than MC2, even with the annoying game design. There's just something so fun about zooming through a city at high speed, pushing a wave of traffic, bits of street furniture, and tire smoke ahead of you. Things start off almost scarily fast, and get faster as you get faster cars, until you're racing supercars at 200+ MPH through oncoming traffic.

Nyaow!

What scares me? Mobile phones, bad driving, and brake lights.
(Spend some time drafting traffic on a bike and you'll understand the last one)

Rave: Saw Battle Royale for the first time last night. Very cool movie, a PC game based on it would be really cool too

Yeah, but how would it work to feel like Battle Royale?
(oh, and the book is better)

Oh, and rant: Got threatened by a drunk redneck today. WtF. Even worse, I just played the better man and walked away instead of giving him some sort of sarcastic and insulting retort re his parentage and intelligence.

"In your histories, there are continual justifications for all manner of hellish actions. Claims of nobility and heritage and honor to cover up every bit of genocide, assassination, and massacre. At least the Horde is honest in their naked lust for power."

StruckingFuggle: Maybe something like Far Cry. Put players on a large island, give then random "weapons" (go the pot lid!) and have them kill each other. Wouldn't be too much of a full game, just a fun multiplayer romp. Also, I read that there's also a manga version of Battle Royale. Except it's a hentai title, good ol' Japan
*EDIT* Oh, and having seen Battle Royale, the opening of AMV Hell 2 suddenly makes more sense.
