I've seen some CHP Camaros before. They're all white and have low-profile LED bars on top, instead of interior flashers or regular chevron formation top lights.

In a semirelated note, the CHP has started carrying M-16s. I was stopped to change a flat tire the other day, and a chp officer stopped by. I peeked in his car, and he had a decked-out M-16 in the center lockup, instead of a shotgun.

Next time I saw another highway patrol car, I tried to see inside. Didn't get as close, but it looked like that one had an M-16 too.
I may not know what I'm doing but I'm getting better at it.

You do realize that camaros and mustangs actual handle quite well.

You think that low profile lights on top is hard to spot? How about all black cars with the lights hidden on the dash of the car.

Really fun are those un-marked BMW motorbikes that have cameras and laser speed detectors in the front and in the rear. Some bikers here used to collect plate numbers from un-marked police wehicles and put them into their web sites, didn't stay there for long though. :)

Speaking of putting things on websites...

http://www.speedtrap.org

It only has listings for the US, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico (under "Caribbean"). However, it's something to keep in mind. For a bit of a laugh, read the comments for the listing of Canada - Ontario - Ottawa... *grins*

Yeah, but not as well as me in a Subaru WRX. :)
Just gotta keep to curvy roads that one can build up a reasonable speed on, because I don't have the top end for straight highway running away.

Yeah, but they handle a heck of a lot better than a Crown Vic or a Caprice, which still probably have enough top end to catch you on a straight. And with a good driver in a Camaro or Mustang, especially a more modern one, they could probably at least stay close enough to you in the curves that they could catch up on any straights, unless you are a really good driver. Of course, most of the people that get in high speed chases don't seem to be very good drivers....

And remember, Motorola is faster than you.

Stock?

(granted, I don't think Camaro Interceptors will be stock, but I don't think they'd build them up that much, either, would they?)

On the road, however, I can tell you why AWD is better than RWD. In one word:

RAIN!

Actually, that's not true. Sure you can GO faster, but you'd stop in longer distances with AWD than with RWD due to the added drivetrain weight. The same goes for snow. Whenever I see a moron in a Grand Cherokee go blasting past me at 75mph in a blizzard, I try to guess how far down the road I'll see him in the ditch or smacked into the median. And I almost always DO see them in the ditch later on, if they don't spin right in front of me...

Grip does not mean you're safer. 'nuff said.

Actually , yes it means, unless you abuse the grip by going too fast. :D

Well I can tell you that I definitely can accellerate into and out of turns in the rain in my WRX that've made me lose control and almost spin out in the Camaro taking it easy, so it gives you more control, which makes it safer, so long as you understand the limits of that control. :)
