Re: Mensajitos
Dear Everyone,
Today in the United States of America is Thanksgiving. Canada celebrated it about a month ago. But with this sort of being the start of the Holiday Season, it would be good to give thanks for what you have. Before you go the next day and spend like the end of the world is here, which may be actually true in a few weeks.
So who do I blame for the things we aren't thankful for this year? You, world.
For thinking that all of Congress are scum, but liking your congressman or senator anyway, I blame you.
For forcing companies like Wal-Mart to hold opening hours today so that people can get a jump on Black Friday, I blame you.
For forcing calling centers and companies to go to countries like India where they don't really have any holidays to speak of anyway, or move manufacturing locations to a fourth world country so that they can justify set price that Lego set so that a homeless guy could afford it or to pay the worker here what's legally allowed with no other benefits so they can continue to have a dollar menu even if it's costing their profit margin, I blame you.
For fostering a culture where the founder of Papa John's can basically say even if we make a lot of profit, we're not obligated to spend it on the workers and the masses are shocked and the Papa John shareholders applaud. Then everyone realizes most of the workers are only making pizza or driving that pizza to you, how much do they really need to make anyway? I blame you, people.
For raising a culture that thinks they are more self-entitled than they really are, I blame you folks. This is the reason the terrorists hate us.
Should it surprise anyone we live in a world that has Europe, the United States and Japan on the brink of economic collapse, with some wanting Economic Armageddon to occur so they can make their point and everyone hoping the communist Chinese will actually save the day (and do you really want to place your hopes on China?) when we ourselves leave the business of giving a damn to foreigners coming to your shores legally or illegally? Should we be surprised that we're surprised that a loon hasn't caused more of an explosion from that tinderbox that's the Middle East, and that most of the world rely on that tinderbox for the oil they need for everything?
Ron Paul had it wrong when he said that our Constitution has failed. Really, our society has failed. And I blame it on you, world.
Yours,
Ampersand, who has 99 problems, but is thankful his family isn't one of them this year.

Papa John sent me an email offer for two 'pizza's' the other day.
He's lost a cu'stomer.

Re: Mensajitos
Had my nose to the grindstone the last year juggling full-time work and a zillion classes.
But, now I'm living in ol' Glasgow (again) and am a proud member of the Scum-of-the-earth club, Full-time education.
Having free time is alien to me.
I have, like, entire -days- to do anything I want with
I missed this place though, good to see the names I recognise are still here!
Oh! And I have a beard now.
It doesn't suit me.

You were an apprentice spark, no? I didn't realise you went to college/Uni after that. Which one are you at?

Re: Mensajitos
Oh, I finished my apprenticeship last year. I was doing night classes in Electrical Engineering, and I've just left work to do a HND full-time.
The difference being an electrician is the guy crawling under floorboards and the electrical engineer is the guy telling the electrician what to do. (Because fuck the tools)
I'm at Stow College at the moment, who seem to be alright - though disorganised.

Thankfully, I will have left them by then.
Being the cheeky bugger I am, I've jumped into the last year of the course.
