Ordering the book in Canada?

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

Ordering the book in Canada?

Post by Robbie Robb » Mon Jun 28, 2004 2:44 pm

Has anyone from Canada had any success at pre-ordering the book recently? I don't mind paying shipping but feel that USD$34.00 shipping & handling on a book costing $20.95 is a little bit steep.

Are there any other alternatives to acquire this book? Is there an ISBN number we can use to order the book via amazon.ca?

Greg, please help us poor, cold Canucks out! We need your book up here so that we can laugh ourselves to warmth in our igloos! :)

It's a problem that needs to be fixed, but you need to send that info through the "Contact Us" link on the store page... I don't run it, so i have no real way of influencing it.

Thanks for the quick response Greg! I'll definitely do that. There appears to be multiple shipping options when placing the pre-order but it will only allow the USPS option (which is also the most expensive).

Thanks again!

greg, how about YOU take the canadian orders, we'll pay YOU. and you send them to us at a reduced shipping cost!!!
I'd rather give you my money than a third party. besides UPS jacks a minimum 20US "brokerage fee" on top of our shipping. so we'll end up paying 50us to ship the 20 dollar book.

Just a quick update:

I emailed Starline Media and quickly received word back from them. The shipping cost is generated automatically from USPS and they have no control over it. The email did mention that they would look into offering alternate methods of shipping to Canada and would keep the front page updated with any new information. (I'm assuming that is Starline's main page, not the main RL book page at Starline).

If Greg can provide us an ISBN, amazon.ca or chapters/indigo SHOULD be able to order the book for us and not have to pay outrageous shipping costs.

Is there any information on shipping to Europe?

I don't mind buying it now, as the dollar is really weak compared to the pound, but if I'm going to have to add on $50+ for shipping then I can do without the book.

This is always the problem when things on the internet release products, they only ship to a limited region.

Ditto on Mat3's comment about shipping to Europe, I was thinking about getting it for a friend of mine who introduced me to Reallifecomics.com if not I will just have to pay for Magic The gathering cards or rack my brains out again.

HEY ALL!

Starline Media has fixed the shipping problem!![

Hope that got everyone's attention. Starline has the problem solved and now shipping is less than US$5.00 (To Ontario it was US$3.70).

I'd like to publicly thank Starline Media for responding very quickly to this situation and getting it fixed. Their communication has been top-notch! It's things like this that make businesses succeed!
