Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind is also a good book, but you gotta set aside some free time if you really wanna delve into it, as the series is a bit long

I also read recently Blade of Tyshalle by Matthew Woodring Stover, and I now want to get my hands on the book before it (Heros Die) because the main character is quite a badass, even though he's paralyzed from the waist down, and I wanna see how much damage he can do when he actually has use of his legs.

"Animal Farm" by George Orwell. Perhaps I would've had an easier time through "1984" if I tried this one first... and, as far as manga goes, "Fruits Basket" and "Hellsing", both vol. 3. fun.

am currently trying to pester neighbor into giving me the rest of the "Hitchhiker's Guide" trilogy. I recently read the first (thanks to YOU, lovely forumites), but I'm broke and I don't want to shell out another $15 for the others. *cries*

am also trying to re-read "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (Oscar Wilde)... for some reason, though, I can never get past the first few chapters anymore... but I'll settle for the pretty pretty mental images caused by the pretty pretty paragraphs any day. *siiiiiiiigh*

1984 ranks up there as one of my favorite books. You might also try reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It's pretty good, too.

Ack, I forgot that the last book I *actually* read was The Princess Dairies. :shifty: Slipped my mind for some reason...

Right now I'm reading H.M.S Surprise.... a book I started before the movie (from the same series) came out but stopped reading because of school. :P

The last book I read may have possibly been Jennifer Government by Max Barry. Or it might have been a Discworld book, I can't remember. It's been a while since I read any books.

I'll list:
The Jesus Incident
The Lazarus Effect
The Ascension Factor

together as I just read them all, a day for each :shifty:

Then a short story: The Men Who Shot Mohammed, by Alfred Bester.

I remember reading The Sword of Shannara recently by Terry Brooks, though I never really got around to going to the bookstore to buy another book in the series...

I've also read (several times over) Brain Droppings and Napalm & Silly Putty, both by George Carlin :D

Lately I haven't read anything, but a while ago I did read "So long and thanks for all the fish"

Definately not as good as the others.
