And with BtEO's words of wisdom, hopefully you'll all shut up.
You realize by and large that we're not talking about Michael Moore and the (lack of) truth in his works, right? :)
I didn't realize.

You may beat me now.

Don't see why people get all worked up about him.
Moore's propaganda's no worse than Bush's.

If Iraq exported broccoli, we wouldn't have gone to war. :p

Being the president, Bush faces much more scrutiny.. ANother important difference is that Bush cant threaten to sue people who criticize him, something that Moore is known to do.

If anyone watched the Daily Show yesterday (mighta been a rerun, but i don't think so) there was a Michael Moore spoof about a guy trying to make a movie called "Michael Moore Hates America" - it made me think of this thread. And it starts worrying me when real life imitates the interweb.

I did it one time and I liked it

UN inspectors: Saddam shipped out WMD before war and after

SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM

Friday, June 11, 2004

The United Nations has determined that Saddam Hussein shipped weapons of mass destruction components as well as medium-range ballistic missiles before, during and after the U.S.-led war against Iraq in 2003. The UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission briefed the Security Council on new findings that could help trace the whereabouts of Saddam's missile and WMD program. The briefing contained satellite photographs that demonstrated the speed with which Saddam dismantled his missile and WMD sites before and during the war. Council members were shown photographs of a ballistic missile site outside Baghdad in May 2003, and then saw a satellite image of the same location in February 2004, in which facilities had disappeared.

And here are 59 lies that Michael Moore places in his new film Fahrenheit 911, while I did not write this I have made reference to it many times.

It is backed by many sources.

Edit: Excuse me, but WTF was that? First of all, there was NO REASON to post something of that length. I corrected the first link and added the above link so that page load times weren't stupidly long. Second, you didn't attribute the second article at all, or if you did, you did it after the post was cut off (which happens at 60KB, telling you just how much you put in). Posting intros to articles with links following is fine; posting entire articles -- especially of that length -- is ludicrous. Learn some netiquette. -- Martin
Why would you object to him saying it nearly a year after the 9/11 attacks and when asked about something completely unrelated?
On August 4, 2002, Mike Allen of the Washington Post wrote:Just over four hours before, as Bush slept at his parents' seaside retreat, a Palestinian suicide bomber blew up a bus in Israel, killing nine passengers.

Bush, wearing khakis and a knit shirt, was holding a driver in his gloved left hand. The rest of his foursome, including his father, former president George H.W. Bush, was waiting. However incongruous the setting, the president plunged ahead. "There are a few killers who want to stop the peace process that we have started, and we must not let them," he said. "I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers."

His business out of the way, Bush barely paused for breath before saying, "Thank you. Now watch this drive."
Ha ha ha nice move MB. Personaly, I was sure he was refering to Al Qaeda. But now he proves to be more hypocrites and stupid than I thought. He called upon every nations to do everything they can to stop... Palestinian terrorist ? And that by using every Veto he can the block each new resolution ? He's crazy or what ? Talks don't stop terrorists. He can say whatever he wants in his ranch, Palestine and Israel need a concrete plan.

Aww... Each time that those "nations" finf a solution to the Palestinian problem, Bush uses its Veto. Hypocrisy. US will probably use a Veto to block the plan about the Israelian wall. It's predictable.

If only he was speaking of Al Qaeda, at least he would be more coherent.

I was just clarifying when the quote actually occured and what it was about to stop the bickering over that aspect of it.
If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there.

Well, Martin, I already found that after the post and so rescinded my major objection that it was in regard to 9/11 and such - but I still think its a bit callous of him.

As for him sitting in the classroom ON September 11th, 2001 .... he just sat there looking dumbfounded for a few minutes and then began to read. What if he read for an hour? Two hours? At what point is he neglecting doing his job for a (opinion: stupid and pointless /opinion) PR jaunt?

Furthermore, the worst part is not that he waited, but the look on his face - dumbfounded, shocked, lost ... he choked, he FROZE. What if in such a situation thousands of lives DID depend on his immediate response. Would he be able to do it? I don't think so ... I would imagine he would freeze, again, like he did on that day.

Such a man should not be re-elected.

Oh shit, so you weren't shocked out of your pants when it happened? First time the plane crashed it was believed to be some horrible accident, and about 15 mins later (I think) when the second plane crashed, it was realized that it wasn't just a coincidence.

I was startled, but I got out of bed and actually started, you know, getting informed (well, as well as a civilian could, watching the TV news and all) and kind of went about my day, eating breakfast, getting dressed, and - granted, I wanted to skip my classes and watch CNN, but I ended up going to class listening to NPR and moving, sure I was surprised, but I don't recall ever just sitting there and doing nothing. Unlike Bush - I still maintain he should have (note to certain people:) gotten up and POLITELY EXCUSED HIMSELF, THEN WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM (note: if you somehow confuse this with "rush out", I suggest you go back to school and take some lessons in reading comprehension, as well as reading up on the "false choice dilema" logical fallacy. ) ... Where he should have proceeded to his, for lack of a better word, lair, with such questions as "what do we know?" and "what can we do?" and begun to tackle the problem.
The first action of a proper leader in such a circumstance should be to act to gain understanding and find a course of action - instead of sitting there frozen. Sure, you can ask "what would I do?" ... many people would freeze. Some wouldn't. These people who would freeze - this fact should be deeply considered when putting them in a position of leadership. Don't forget he's a leader - how do you want YOUR leader to act in times of crisis?
