Note to self: Do not waste next summer.

Post by Pariochial » Tue Jul 27, 2004 2:56 am

Ok, I managed to get through this summer without getting too bored thanks to the month long vacation and the pointless meandering of time. The vacation was nice enough. I visited my grandparent's cow farm, and saw some shows in Branson. Then I visited my other grandparent's house which is very nicely set with a same creek nearby that just hums while you go to sleep and some very nice foliage and such which makes for a very nice view and generally good place to live(except of course for the fact that civilization is roughly 40 miles away in any dirextion.)

Of course, the thing is I actually didn't really do anything that I could call especially good or memorable all summer, and school is already going to start in a couple of weeks. I guess I'll just have to go and make up for this uneventful summer mostly bu making it a memorable school year. Thus, I wish myself luck in a way that people would not look at me strangely for talking to myself, and I hope I accomplish something good this time around.

I didn't have a chance to have a memorable summer. A 9am-6pm, Monday - Friday work schedule took care of that.

I worked 50 hours last week between Subway and Wal-Mart. That's about as memorable as it will get.

I can't WAIT for school to start.

Using the signature trend or someting? Look at a calender! Don't shortchange us- we're still in the dead MIDDLE of summer! July 27. August is pretty dreary- too close to a new year.

I'm just confused. Sleeping through most of the day and staying up until nearly dawn does that to you.

I managed to have one summer off after turning 16. Once I could drive I was ordered to work. That one summer, my first after starting teaching, rocked! I had money from work, I was old enough to drive, old enough to travel where I wished, AND had the time to do it. Those things never go together. I was rarely home, opting instead to go visit friends and travel places. *sighs wistfully* I still try to make the most of the summer even when working though. Vacation to see friends and trips places are always fun even if they are only short weekend trips.

As someone said, it is 2 more weeks till school, and I don't like to count those days where school exists as "summer" so much, not to mention the temperature difference is minimal enough that if you told me is based on the weather, I'd say summer lasts at least through September where I live. 2 weeks in not particularly alot to go through, considering and month is a bit more than 4 weeks, I've got 2 more weeks to burn compared to about 9 I had before. So ya, I'd say nine eleventhes is pretty darn close to done, and I have done squat. It does make me feel better that people here waste time just as much as me. It makes me feel slightly more than completely worthless.

So quite whining and just go DO something. Hiking, bike riding, visiing friends, reading a few good books, some pjoject or another. Never whine about being bored when it is YOU who is doing the sitting around. Don't wait for things to happen to you, go make them happen.

Ack, nothing I hate more than people misundstanding my message. What I meant is it is a bit late to do alot of that stuff, and I wish that I had the motive to have done it earlier. I'm saying I'm should've made them happen in the first place, and it taught me a lesson. Now, you people are saying "You shouldn't have wasted your time!" to which I say "Duh!"
