So that's his weapon. Interesting, I heard rumors of mind blades but never really seen one before. Well, I definetly wouldn't want to get on his bad side, he can get anywhere and still have a knife. A perfect assassin...

Vincent sighed with exhaustion. It was getting a little late, and just a little tiring. This conversation didn't seem to be going anywhere.

"Well, I guess you all need to work out some things before you decide whether or not you want to go along with his plan." Vincent nodded towards the mage, Malzra he called himself. "I'll just say I'm in for now, and go at that. When you guys are finished, let me know eh?"

He turned from the corner of the room and opened the door, taking a step outside. The room was quite stuffy from all the people; the dark hallway was a welcome breath of cool air.

"Attacking my old guild are you? They were more than small time nobodies, they was. They may have fallen into disrepair since, but they oft lacked honor. So that far from suprises me now. What interest do you have in the Tome? I have yet to hear a justification for said actions, aside from yet another chrono magnus seeking power. Tell me of your aims, and why each of us should aid you in achieving them. Wealth means little to me, anymore."

He nods at vincent as he walks out

"Power? This has nothing at all to do with power. The tome is as i explained, a key and a map. From what I understand of it, it will somehow lead us to Avalon, the lost city of Dragons. Find that, is my goal. Power, I already possess. What I seek is wisdom long-forgotten. My reasons for wanting this wisdom...are my own and for the time being at least shall remain as such. Do not group me in with other chrono magi, for I am not as typical as those fools."

ooc: He's a tad bit conceited >.>

The blade gradually fades to a dark blue, almost black, color.

"Heh. You have ambition. Lots of it. I would suggest you abandon it before it leads you down a dark road."

The mind blade vanishes and Trynal steps back.

"Chrono Magus or no, I don't trust you and probably never will. Still, I can't turn down an offer like that. You have my cooperation . . . for now."

"Ambition? Possibly...in any case, what about you two? Doesent the possibility of finding the lost city of dragons tempt you even a bit? Think of the power of the dragon race, the knowledge they must have, and even information in the hordes there must be there, of anchient civilizations far older then even the dragons themselves. Finding Avalon means finding whatever you desire most, above all else."

ooc: ok, so since it appears none of you have anyhting else to say...

after the rest agree to help, Malzra calls vincent back in and explains the plan.

The Plan:
Step 1. Break into the town hall from the sewers beneath the town hall (convieniently placed manholes, of course)

Step 2. Make it through the maze with gaurds posted

Step 3. Locate Trynal who will open the vault for us

Step 4. Make it out alive

You all call it a night, go to sleep, and int he morning Tyrnal goes to be a gaurd, and the rest of us find ourselves in the sewers. after a bit of walking, we come across a rats nest. Most scurry away when they see the lights we are carrying, but 7 large rats stick around and hiss at us, backs arched as if they are very large cats.

ooc: Yay! first battle

OOC: Note - How battles will work - I will roll initiative for you all, then for creatures i will roll to see who they attack if they havent already been attacked by someone else.

Battle
Rat 1 charges Mathias and headbutts him, doing 5 damage. He fails to knock you down, and instead knocks himself unconcious for one turn

"Rats? I hate rats..." He grits his teeth and spreads his legs.

Grasping his long spear in two hands, Vincent thrusts towards the great rat's (7) body, the spear leaving a faint trail of blue crystals as it moves forward.

The spear hits it's mark right between the rat's eyes and stabs directly into it's brain. You can feel the rat go limp as you pull the spear out of it's skull.

ooc: ok, yea, rats are weak...but you got a bloody critical on your first roll 0-0
in any case, Alsyndar's up next.

OOC: Damn I'm good...

"It would seem that we have to maintan the extermination service for today."
Alsyndar charges rat 6 and attacks using her Flurry of blows technique.

Not wanting a similar fate as it's comrade, the rat nimbly dodges out of the way by running up the side of the wall, then coming down and attacking Alsyndar from above. He scratches Alsyndar on the cheek for 5 damage.

Malzra sees the situation in front of him and his eyes begin to glow faintly as he rises a bit off the ground. On the floor very quickly a magic circle etches itself, glowing with a brilliant light.

ooc: it will take a full round to finish the incantation, he's empowering it

Rat 2 charges Malzra, startled by the light and jumps, headbutting him directly in the chest for 12 damage. Malzra manages to maintain his concentration and continues the spell

ooc: Genom, your up. also, mathias, do yours too if you see this before i have a chance to update again today. I will probably only update once more today.

Reveling his sword, Genom swings his blade at the closest rat(4).

The rat jumps back just as the blade passes through the air where his head had been moments before

ooc: mathias, your up

Mathias brings his staff down hard on the head of the unconcious rat(1) that attacked him.

The staff comes down hard, making a painful sounding thwack as it hits it's mark.

Rat 4 charges at Genom and jumps, but genom side-steps and the rat passes him making a splash as he lands behind him.

Seeing the fate of his comrade, Rat 3 takes off in a bull rush at vincent and hits him square in the chest, knocking him down. He then proceeds to scratcha nd bite at his face dealing 15 damage total.

Rat 5 runs up to Alsyndar and wraps his tail around her throat in an attempt to throw him, but Alsyndar grabs the rat by the tail instead and flings him into the wall.

ooc: rat 5 has NO luck 0_0 a 1 for initiative, then a critical failure 0_0

Rat 1 shakes his head painfully as it gets up. It attempts to swing it's tail at Mathias, but it's vision is blurry and doesent come close.

ooc: Your up vincent.

Vincent grabs the Knife (ooc: the special one) from under his tunic and quickly stabs at the rat.
