Reading the story i got thinking, is Danny de Vito a Homo floresiensis, he's short and can repeat words given to him.Scientists have discovered a new and tiny species of human that lived in Indonesia at the same time our own ancestors were colonising the world.

That's freakin' awesome. And I agree that Danny deVito could very well be the modern day floresiensis.
So do you think we'll find that yetis exist and are another offshot of the human species?
Finding more of those little guys out in the jungle would be weird... would be interesting to see how the world would react to something like that.

Uhm... I'm honestly not sure how it would blow any part of the theory of evolution out of the water, unless they were directly related to us at some relatively recent stage. Care to clarify how, exactly?

I think the clarification is that he doens't fully understand the theory of evolution. This would merely add another off-shoot rung to the family tree of humanity, a branch that evolved off and died off thousands of years ago. Ah, except it's important to keep in mind that a species that lived in isolation actually branches off on it's own once it reaches that isolation. It won't mess up the evolutionary tree any more than adding it in where ever we can best figure it belongs.
