Who's Going to Katsucon? (East Coasters, this means you)

Post by billf » Fri Oct 29, 2004 4:19 am

It's not for a few months yet, but I figured I'd ask if anyone was planning on going to one of the largest Anime Conventions on the East Coast (read someplace that it's the second largest on the east coast, but that could be old info).

Clicky the linky for more info:

Katsucon 11: February 18-20, 2005 in Arlington, Virginia

I might be going to this one. My sister wants to go to a con and I'm trying to convince her that this is the one to go to.

Edit: Unstickied for too many stickies and seems like not much interest in it.

I'd like to go to that one, but I didn't find out about it until a few weeks ago, and I can't just get up and go to Virginia whenever I feel like it :)

Did you go last year? because I did.

Anyway, I might if my friends decide to go again. If I do, I'll be sure to meet up with you for a couple minutes.

If that was directed at me, then no, I've never been there before. I've only been to 2 conventions and one was pretty crappy, the other was the Pittsburgh ComiCon which is a damn good one to go to for comic book stuff, but I don't know of anyone appearing there that's too interesting :P

Just a little updated info for Katsucon.

So far as guests the site has listed people from VGCats, Apple Geeks, Mac Hall, Paradox Lost, Seraphic Blue, Conscrew and Partially Clips for web comic people, and 6 voice actors including Mike Sinterniklaas from The Venture Brothers :D

Since there are a few non rlforum people I know of that are deffinately going, and even more people that are interested in going, my chances of being there are pretty high now :P

I will not be able to make any Con till I get a job and a drivable car.

NQD: Keep your Army uniform on and see how many people think you're cosplaying.

Oh yeah, and I'm serious when I say this, "Bring Febreeze."

I might be willing to go if there's someone to carpool with.

Slight change of plans on my end. Most likely not going with my sister, but still going. Alternate plans being made with someone else at the moment.

Anyone Looking to stay at a hotel speak up. They're expensive. I think it's $119 a night for a "quad", but I've been informed by a few con frequenters that it's like a clown car. It looks like a 4 person room, but you'd be surprised how many people you can fit in the bathtub.
