I ordered my copy way way back when it was being published through Ironcat. When I found out it jumped publishers, I reordered it AND emailed Starline about it.
Waited around for a very long time. Nothing happened. Got a couple emails at very long intervals from Starline, but they weren't much help. The book went to print in February 2004 and still nothing. I hoped that the comic shop I ordered through did order it, but nothing really came to fruition (but they did get me Mac Hall, which I haven't paid for yet
During the year, I started work for a online Linux distributor. Later on, they merged into a online bookstore which offered a Bookfind service. After their success with finding both of Wil Wheatons books, I asked them to find Real Life. Sure enough, they did and I ordered it. 2 weeks later (after nearly 2 years, maybe more) of waiting, I got the book in the mail. The only downside was a rip in the cover, but we were unable to determine the source of it. And since I was a affiliate, I got 10% commission on it.
Funny thing was, soonafter I got the book, Starline emailed me and asked for my address. I said I got the book via other methods and left it at that. And it still hasn't shown up at the comic shop.
