And for such tripe as:

ROFLMAO !!!!
"brain death" posting perhaps ? nah... the thread is fine ! it ate a wee bit today and laughed with it's doctors, it will be back in no time... really... I swear...
first thing's first: abu-mazen, though not as highly appreciated in gaza as arafat is still a very strong leader, and he IS (to my surprise) setting up a democratic elections, in which 10(!) candidates are running for office. the one who will be elected (hopefuly abu-mazen) probably will have enough respect from most people and will be able to rule...
second: israel is trying to end it's occupation and exit the gaza strip. sharons government in is shreds, and he now needs the assistance of the labor party (which he will get) in order to execute the segregation plan in which israel withdraws it's troops from gaza.
so far the move is planned as a unilateral move. but if a reasonable partner will arise on the palestinian side (a possibility today) israel might coordinate the move with the palestinians.
in other words, the less chaos there is the better both sides are off...

wrong analysis in my openion, mate...Israel will use the chaos to enforce a long and bloody occupation. The US will stop the security council doing anything, and lots of children and innocent adults will die on both sides.
