My idea for an MMORPG: Good or Bad?

Talk about whatever you feel like.

Could this RPG be successful? would you buy it?

I think it'd be successful and I'd buy it.

My idea for an MMORPG: Good or Bad?

Post by Vaeran » Sun Nov 21, 2004 6:37 am

I think that there should be a new MMORPG called Real Life Online. You start out as a kid and go through school, leveling up by doing things that would give you experience in the real world(fighting bullies in gradeschool, making the right choice against drug dealers in highschool etc.). Once you get to highschool, you can take certain courses that affect what courses you can take once you reach college. Then, once you're in college, the courses you take determine which jobs you can take(lawyer, doctor). Or, if you aren't a big fan of school, you can drop out of highschool and do other things like stealing cars from NPCs in New York City, or going into the slums of large cities and battling criminals(you can also do this if you have a real job, I'm just trying to make the uneducated ones look good :P). Also, you can buy a car or a plane ticket or a boat etc. and travel the whole WORLD!! Btw, something I forgot to mention about the jobs: when you get one, you start at one place. You get promoted by doing good work, and by getting good reports to your superiors by the other NPC workers. Also, if other players are in your same office(which they no doubt will be) they will be given the chance to send in a good or bad report also. And, at the end of the day, you go home to your house/appartment that has furnishings that you can buy from places like BestBuy! or Target. Well, that's all i could think to put on this post, but there is much more in my head!

Now, the purpose of this post: do you think that, judging by what i put down, if an MMORPG like this came out, that it would be successful? Would you buy it? Hehe, just an idea i came up with while i was in the shower^^'. Tell me what you think!

Step outside. No, literally, go outside. BAM instant multiplayer.

I don't think it'd be successful, but I'd buy it either just to check out or because i like the idea.
Reason: It'd take WAY too long to get all the data needed to make it work right. But if they did get it to work decent, I'd buy it.

Wow... that sure is an idea... good or bad, ummm...

Anyway... I know of several people who'd probably buy it because they're strange like that.

The sims didn't interest me, so I doubt this would... If you could get it to somehow be at the caliber that the sims is at, it might be successful as bargainware...
I really need a new sig....

#1.
go outside
#2. I don't give a damn.

#3. Go for it; people are stupid enough to buy it. Just remember to put Janet Jackson in there flashing her tits, or something equally as mundane-yet-taboo. Everyone will buy that shit.

The sims has the appeal of controlling the lives of others. I'm not sure people would take to the idea of a game about their own life. For me, games that are that in-depth are an escape from the stress of real life.

you know if you went to school and worked hard and then got a good job and lots of friends you'd probably be happier than if you played this ultimate sims game and did the same.

just a thought.

you ever see "go out side and play", is a pritty cool game.

Sounds like an advanced Sims Online.

Only time I ever ENJOYED playing The Sims was when I was high. Havn't done that in 2 years though.
Might sell to potheads.

I'm just a sarcastic little bastard who can't spell mate.
all ment in jest (I saw a mock game for the ps2 ages ago called "go outside and play" would of made more sence if I'd explained that)
