no fallout, no jagged alliance, no monkey ball, no dungeon master, no eye of the beholder, no street fighter, no castlevania, no civilization, no transport tycoon other games from my childhood that were well meaty.
no sam and max or day of the tentical how can you miss them.
think this is too huge a target to mass a poll about.
It's like that ultimate film crap they did on channel 4 the other night, based on cinema takings in the uk. what a crock (no offence to you)
although I wonder what the biggest selling game of all time is???????
And Shadowrun (The sega one, not SNES), Earthbound, the Elder Scrolls series... The list goes on.
As far as best selling goes, Halo 2 got 125 million it's first day.

Re: The Best Video Games Ever Made
In response to all the posts demanding more games on the list.
Write-in votes count too, dames and gents. Here's what I got thus far.
Tetris: 2 votes (Kaiju, I'm taking your reply as a vote for Tetris until you tell me otherwise)
Fallout: 1 vote
See? I keep track. I wasn't lying before.

Actually, Diablo DID come out on the PSX. And if you want to talk about strategy on the PC, I'm going to dare you to again mention games without mentioning anything involving Sid Meier. Go ahead. Do it.

"In your histories, there are continual justifications for all manner of hellish actions. Claims of nobility and heritage and honor to cover up every bit of genocide, assassination, and massacre. At least the Horde is honest in their naked lust for power."

Speaking of jello, a remake of Pirates just came out recently and contains dangerously high doses of concentrated nostalgia.
My vote goes to Ocarina of Time. It isn't my favorite, but everyone I know lost a sizable portion of their lifetime to that game and it is still near the top of my short list of games I like. (Hell one of my friends was not only able to beat the game on three hearts without needing to use a continue, but he could beat the first dungeon of OOT WITH HIS FEET.)

Everyone just look up the Best games in Eat Pie. I already did this quite a while ago. And pretty much every game mention was on that list.

I love Tetris but I ADORE Monty Python style tetris - Plague Village tetris.
If you've not heard of it before, it was in the Holy Grail PC game... a tetris minigame where you throw dead bodies into a pit, and they pile up to the top.
Each time you complete a line, the line decomposes, complete with gorgeous squishy decomposey noises.
The crazy "I'm not dead! I feel happy!" guy is a block that wriggles and changes shape all over the place, so you never know how he's going to fall.

Edit: Oh, and I l have always loved arkanoid and variations thereof. One of the first ones that I played was "Bricks", a really basic game that I programmed into our old Amstrad. I loved that game.
