MAn, seriously, how can you justify Diablo? As a GOOD game, sure, but The Best?

Doom, of those. But I ACTUALLY think it should have the Civilization series up there.

At its time Diablo was one of the best games
I still play it now (Original and DII)

The poll should have either more options, or things such as that, and I dont see NWN in the listings anywhere hmm ?
or WoW

Piffle, RF. I'm pretty sure Civ II and the original Fallout were around at the same time, both of which are far superior to Civ II.

Oh. Hah. And STARCRAFT was out at the same time.

For those of you requesting games like Starcraft, I suggest you check the original list. This is where the ten games in the poll came from.

Oh. And I'm just about to do a tally of write-ins again.

Posted Thu Jan 27, 2005 10:37 am:

UP TO THE MINUTE WRITE-IN TALLY:

Tetris: 4 discernable votes with maybe three others mentioning it in passing.
Prince of Persia: 1 vote
Fallout: 1
Chrono Trigger: Two votes
Tie Fighter: 1
Secret of Evermore: 1
Wing Commander: 1
Civilization Series: 2 votes
Starcraft (my personal favorite of the write-in games by far, as well as my favorite PC game ever made--don't normally care for the PC gaming--) : 2 votes
Oregon Trail: 1.5 votes.

Ten games got write-ins, making a total of 20 games to vote on. Also, important question:
I put Tony Hawk on the list for a reason, but still, who thinks it's really THE best game ever?

i think the tony hawk series are the best games ever. the best thing about them in my eyes is that you can be creative. there's always new line possibilities. the later games have been rather insane but they're just so much fun (except when playing horse with a friend who does nothing but kickflips because he'd rather be playing something else) not to mention that THUG2 was laugh out loud hilarious at times

Hmmmmmm... best game EVAR? I would want to say MGS being it's my favorite, but I'll have to say Adventure, being it 's staple in gaming history and the influence it had.

So many good games there. But I'm a sucker for the classics. Console games just arent what they used to be, and a good bit of new PC games are mediocre at best. :-/

Because, while excellent games, they are very far from what was achieved in games like:

Deus Ex (or any of the Looking Glass/I.S.A games)
Day of the Tentacle
Half-Life
Legend of Zelda : Ocarina Of Time
Planescape : Torment

Oh, and Dreamer mentioned Halo.

Also, welcome to the forums, you should try introducing yourself here.

Because only a 12 year old would say they are the best game ever made. They are both way over rated.
