Oh, yes. As we all know, Americans are the laziest sons of bitches in the world. No one else is lazy at all.

I'd use the clapper to find mine, but that takes too much energy, so I'm going to keep watching the test signal.

Actually, there is another form of American laziness, and most of you might use it in your everyday life (if you work for a big ass software company). Some of you might know it as...

The microphone!

It's pretty much something that types for you instead of wasting your precious time typing on a keyboard. Rest those poor, tired old fingers. Kiss my ass. Oh yeah, I'm not talking about those microphones where you plug it into the back of your CPU and talk to people over Counter-Strike. I'm talking about the microphones where you plug it in, install the software, personalize your voice and then talk into it while it dictates words for you. Those kinda piss me off, not in a way where it frustrates me to destroy it. I'm talking about how America has grown SO LAZY over the years that we are relying on machines to breathe, walk, eat, and now talk for us. I can understand if you're deaf, but if you're in a good healthy condition, than TYPE!!

xX Heartagram Xx, are you seriously fucking complaining about voice recognition software? I don't use it, but I don't have to. All my limbs are in working order, and I have many years of typing experience to make my typing quick and mostly accurate. Then again, I also get bouts of minor carpal tunnel, too, which I wouldn't if I were to dictate more. Dictating is healthier than typing. Dictating helps if you can't type very quickly. Dictating helps if you want to just sort of do a stream of consciousness thing without having to try to think about how you spell consciousness. Try breaking a finger and then typing. Even a freaking paper cut can really piss you off. Playing the guitar a lot one afternoon when you haven't in a while makes typing odd.

You sound like someone saying how having cars is SO LAZY because we don't sprint everywhere anymore. Or because we use a blender instead of a hand-cranked mixer. Or use a remote instead of getting up and changing the channel by hand. And that it's Americans who are using the voice recognition software, as compared to the rest of the world.

That you're attributing this to laziness rather than efficiency and productivity concerns me. I mean, well, not really because I think your igorance and stupidity will infect others, but because in general I'm disturbed by, well, your attitude. I can't even explain why. Suffice to say, STFU. Shut the DAMN out of your mouth!

KatFreak, or limbless, or para- or quadraplegic, or with a broken hand, or with CTS, or with not enough typing experience, or with concerns about developing CTS, etc, etc, etc.

Ditto for Deacon. So many people label anything they don't have/use as lazy/stupid/bad, without bothering to actually think. Voice recognition is a wonderful piece of technology. Many people speak faster than they type, so distating to your computer would increase productivity. If you are especially coordinated, it's also feasible that you could muti-task, doing one thing the "old fasioned way" (ie by hand), and another by voice. You could dictate status reports for your boss while you do the work that you are reporting on.

And because I haven't fulfilled my sarcasm quota for the day: People who use electricity are lazy! We should do everything the way the Good Lord intended! Mules were good enough for Jesus, they're good enough for you, dammit!
And on the eighth day God said, "Okay Murphy. You take over."

Note to self: Pillage first, burn second.

This is why we don't have nice things :P

Things like that are handy, but they aren't things that I really find necessary. I prefer to keep it simple and easy. I tend to stay away from complicated bloated interfaces, and stick with the simplistic stuff (IE, I use bblean as my shell, rather than Exploder).
Just one of thoes personal preference things I guess.

Yea, how many of you "Americans are lazy" people have ever cleared a cotton field by hand? Fucking none, that's what.

I have, and it sucks. There is nothing wrong with automatic things or making menial tasks easier. It will free up time for family, more work, other activities, as well as occasionally allow disabled people to do the same "lazy" crap the rest of us take for granted.

If you think technology advances are bad, then move somewhere where you don't have oh, running water, electricity, or food you can buy from a store, pre-cooked and ready to eat. Morons.

...Also, its a global service done in various languages. Since various nations are able to use this service, why is it suddenly just America that gets pointed out?

Think first. THEN express concept.
