One final update: the insurance company of the idiot who hit me is giving me more than what I determined to be the blue book value of my car, so at least that's a positive. Although having been completely out of debt, it's still a negative to have to buy a new car!

Who said you had to buy a new car? Why not take what the insurance paid out, perhaps with a little help from one bank account or another, and find the best deal you can for that? :)

New cars aren't worth it. Buy a two year old car with 30,000 miles and a good bit of the warrenty left on it. A car like that is nearly new, and will cost probably half the price.

RabidAnimeFan, btw, you should probably wipe out the license plates in those photos. With just the tags, if you know what you're doing, you can find out way too much info about a person. And since this is the intarweb, well...
