Re: Move to Seattle, yo!
Well, -10 delays the school district. Gels the diesel in the school buses. Personally, I have fun with sub-zero weather.
Re: Move to Seattle, yo!
You silly southerners
I'm currently living in southern bc (ironically just north of the only true desert in canada) and it takes about 8-12 inches of snow in 3 hours to close our schools. And even then, its only usually closed for a few hours.
Anyways, the real reason why I posted....
I'm planning on moving down to the Redmond/Bellevue area soon (Currently in the process of getting a job) So its kind of dependant on that.

Half an hour? More like 90 - 120 minutes for me (also lives in b-ham, and registered just to write this reply). I grew up in Edmonds, which is a really really nice city next to Lynnwood (actually I still spend a ton of time there with my folks). You won't have to really worry about snow in that area, since it's close enough to the water to keep things warm (except that year where it snowed on the pier and the roofs over the boats collapsed! we got a whole new dock built after that though). Great to hear you're moving to Washington!

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would move several hundred miles without a job waiting. Or has that issue changed?

I think I'm gonna stick with Ketchikan here. We get enough canadian change and too little recognition as part of the US to make that much of a difference. Southeastern Alaska is an unofficial province of Canada.

I've got that scene in my mind right now, you know that scene from The Last Crusade where the old knight watches the other dude shrivel up, die, and then explode in a cloud of dust, after which he calmly states, "He chose...poorly."

actually, the current residency rules state that durring your 12 months if you've attended 6 or more credit hours of any school you're assumed to have moved with the intention of going to school here and cannot get residency. yeah going to school here is a pain, fortunatly my gf's grandparents set up a trust fund for her that pays for all of it.
i havn't been to the alderwood mall in a while, last i was there they were doing a lot of renovation and the whole place looked pretty dark....maybe it's better now. i'd never even heard of fry's and when they'd put one in in renton my first thought was "Fry's! thats in Real Life! Must go in!"
note as well that this is my second post. i registered quite some time ago, but i'm not much of a poster in most forums. but still i'm all for a huge party to welcome greg and liz to town *edit* ok...i guess it wasn't all that long ago...geez seemed like it though...*edit*
