Sounds a lot like what liberals are trying to do today. Scary stuff.

P.S. other countries need to stop relying on the U.S.

Without going on a red scare, yes this is highly disturbing, and reafirms my views that this rampant socialism in America is going exactly the wrong way, for us Americans anyways.

...it doesn't look that terrible, in fact, for the most part, it seems pretty damn humane

Welllll, I think most of the points on that agenda are either completely idiotic and no properly educated person would go by them. Some other ones are outdated and don't even apply today, given the fall of communism in russia.

I think this site concerns as small a minority of people as the white supremacists or creationists. Though I'm beginning to doubt that given the support for Bush, and the recent Gallup poll in which 45% of the USA support creationist theory.

Screw small-time communists, when talking about nutjobs you've got a bigger minority to deal with hear. Uh-oh, given some of them are in power, would that make you a terrorist for doing so? Probably would.

if you replace communist with socialist in that list, and you can see that quite a few of those points have actually been accomplished. :?

And, some of them, are some damn good points/goals

Things like :

"12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party." - sorry, folks, but outlawing the communist party is actually far more subversive than letting it continue to exist, because to do so you must subvert constitutional principles.

"13. Do away with all loyalty oaths." - Our country was founded on the concept of loyalty to a higher ideal than to the heads of state, and the willingness to comit high treason for those higher ideals if need be. Would you like to tell me where a loyalty oath fits in with the Declaration of Independance? (yes, I know its not a legal document, but it does have relevance to how the nation should be run, I'd say)

"16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights." - that one, I don't know. What "institutions" are they talking about?

"24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press." ... uhm. They're right there. They are violations of free speech and press.

"26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy." ... not going to agree with 'healthy', necessarily, for promiscuity, but natural? Yep to all three of 'em. Normal? Well, normal is a fluid definition, but there's nothin' wrong with 'em.

"27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."". Man, that'd be nice.

"28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." " ... That one really depends on if individuals are doing it on their own, or if it is backed up by the school (and by extention, the state).

I think socialism has alot fo merit, and it's very 'good' for the people.

However, I like owning my own land and being independant.

Capitalism all the way, yo

What happens when Capitalism ends up with other people having bought your land and leasing back, and you're only independant in being able to pick who you work for because if you start your own businesses people bigger than you will crush it?

is this guy a credible source? i've never heard of him and i couldn't find any credentials on the page...
"The three branches would in essence police each other with an elaborate system of safeguards and precautions that would prevent power from being concentrated in too few hands,' Quipped a jubilant (Alexander) Hamilton, 'The only way it could fail is if one party gained control of not just the Executive, but also the Senate and House chambers, and upon doing so, proceeded to bring in like-minded judges!!!' And then the Framers all laughed and laughed and laughed."

The guy is not the source. He's just posting it from his source. He talks about it on his page.

I like communism... well, the ideas, it hasn't worked out so far. But for the most part, I'm a socialist.

Socialism works great for about 50-100 years at a time. It's just got no staying power. Capitalism and Democracy, really, has yet to fail itself completely.

'Completely' being the operative keyword.

Quite. But I challenge you to find any other government type that can even claim that well.
