Brain Implants
What if everybody had a computer chip implanted in the brain the purpose to help reduce crime.
If a person was to murder someone for example, using sattelites the police could find out who was in the vasinity at the time using the implants to Identify the people in that vasinity. A lot of people would stop commiting acts of crime knowing they can be found out and tracked. Or what if the computer chip caused pain, physical harm to someone if they tried to harm another.
If people obide by the law then they have nothing to worry about what would be the problem with a computer chip implant. If anything it would benefit people.

And how, exactly, would the chip work? How would it know, "oh, a crime was commited"? What qualifies as "harm" one might try to do to another, and how would the chip also know it was going to happen?

It would keep a log of every where people go. The police would be able to access this data,,,, Maybe the chip send the data to a super computer which the police have access to. Its kind of a tracking device as well using sattelite technology........... As for the pain thing maybe it monitors brain waves and can desipher them to find out which one are to intent harm on another person. as for the pain itself maybe it just temporarily paralyses some one for a few seconds.

A counter, Blaze, though I larely agree with you -

Re: Brain Implants
why does it need to be in the brain? a simple tracking chip could be placed almost anywhere else. if it's brainwaves you're after, then electrodes on or under the scalp would do better. assuming of course that they could be reliably interpreted.

Hmph. If I have a chip in my brain it had better increase my thinking power before at least 40% before I let it track my location or any of that crap.
