Scared stupid...or just stupid?

Post by WickedGT » Tue Jan 11, 2005 3:55 pm

Are you scared of something to the point that you're terrified but everybody else seems to find this thing really stupid? I've got a friend that's scared of wasps and bees. I mean, sure, everyone is nervous around stuff that stings but he is literally terrified and sprints off in the opposite direction if there's anything resembling a wasp or bee nearby, taking shelter inside a building. Or in my case, I can't say that I am myself but I figured that some of you might have some entertaining answers on this one. None of that sock puppets crap either. You're not Homer.

I have an aunt who is terrified of...are you ready for this?

Cats.

She can't stand to be in the same room as one. She freaks out like you'd expect to see in a Tom and Jerry cartoon when the woman sees a mouse.

I get a little bit nervous around bees, because I'm mildly alergic to them, and I really don't like spiders (especially the big creepy hairy ones). I had a friend who collected tarantulas, and he had a whole wall of them in his room. Creeped me out. *shudder*
Random Task, show them what you do...

WickedGT, is your friend allergic to bees? I know some people who are severely allergic to bees, so they actually have a reason for running in the other direction.

Also, I knew someone once who was frightened of clowns. My psychology teacher thought that it was hilarious.

I run if I see a bee or anything resembling a stingy bug of any kind... but I'm allergic so I'm trying to save my life.

I'm also afraid of clowns, but not to the point of running away or screaming... more just that if I see one I always have a nightmare about it that night.

And earthquakes... I'm so scared of earthquakes I literally will not go to California... stupid, yes. But I'm okay with that.

Did you know that people swallow between 2-5 spiders a year in their sleep? (cant remember the average number)

I am afraid of situations I cannot control/ falling. (used to think it was Heights but its actually of just falling from them)

I run from bees/wasps as well. Nomatter how much ppl tell you they won't sting if you stand still, it's bullshit. I've been stung twice, both were while I was standing completely still and I didn't even notice the f00ker before it stung. The reason I run is that last time I got stung I almost fainted (dunno if it was allergic reaction or just stupid freaking out :))
Also, I have a really hard time being in the basement sometimes, not because of spiders crawling around, but of the big DEAD ones down there. Can't stand them. (Not that I'd like alive ones either, but I never see them until they're dead)

I love that. The longest h phobia is......fear of long words.

I fear spiders. To the point where I grab my hairspray and a fireplace lighter and make my own flamethrower. We're talking hyperventillating, screaming, run as far as you can scared of spiders.

KitsuneMusume, you obviously haven't seen Arachnophobia. Fire and flamethrowers can't stop a determined spider from getting you

Nope. No allergic reaction to bees or wasps. He's just terrified of them for some reason. It makes me laugh to see how shocked he is if he sees one and sprints off like it was Godzilla after him.
