If someone with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, is it considered a hostage situation?

No, it is not considered a hostage situation. It is considered that the person is suicidal, possibly something brought on by his/her mental disorder.

That happened in the the game Vampire: Bloodlines.

Of course, vampires don't die from a gunshot to the head. But the 'hostage' died.

What if one peronality falls in love with the other?
This American system of ours, call it Americanism, call it capitalism, call it what you will, gives each and every one of us a great opportunity if we only seize it with both hands and make the most of it.

No, it's an old, tired joke. And not an especially good one in the first place...

I thought it was good when I first heard it. Then again I think Will and Grace is incredibly funny.

Has any one seen the film Identity? That runs along the lines of the whole multiple personalities killing one another. However I dont even believe its possible for people with this illness, that there various personalities can interact with one another. Dont quote me on that though I could be wrong.

That film was pretty good, kind of obvious but still kinda good.
It was ok.
I didn't like.
Worst film ever.

How do different personalities go about killing each other anyway (without doing harm to their shared body)? The Three Faces of Eve seemed to imply that one personality becomes so dominant that the other is sort of squashed out of having any influence. Can one personality consciously decide to kill the other?

Indeed. But if I enjoy it, and do not forcibly subject others to it, I see nothing wrong with it.
